Chatra - Introduction

Chatra district is located at the North-Eastern part of of Jharkhand. But it is said to be that it is a part of Hazaribagh. This district is under southern plateau of Jharkhand. It is about 300-600 meters above sea-level. Small & big rivers and lakes like Damodar and Barakara passes through this district. The major part of this district is covered with dense forests.

Bhadra Kali Temple : It is located 1.5 kms away from  Itkhori Block in Bhaduli Village. It is situated in Chatra Choupara path. This place surrounded by three sides from Buxa River which looks like U-shaped. The premises Maa Bhadrakali Temple is sorrounded with green forests, falls by this only it is a great tourist attraction.

Tamasin Fall : It is located 26 kms from Chatra and 15 kms away from Itkhori Block and 3 kms away from Tulbul Panchayat head office, a beatutiful view of Tamasin fall can be seen. It is great attraction Chatra. By crossing dense forests and passing durhu path we can reach this place. This place can be reached by passing Kolhaya village. There is a huge collection Monkeys.

Goa Fall : This fall is situated 6 miles away from Chatra between the path of Jaled Village. To view this fall you have to travel 4.5 km by your vehicle and rest 1.5 km by foot.

Kolhwa Hill or Kaleshwari Hill : This hill is located before  10 km from Hunterganj block. Its height is about 1575 ft approx. Now to climb  this hill stairs have been made. In this hill various collections of holy places of Jains, Hindus. This place is also named as Kolhua, Kaleshwari. The main door of Kaleshwari Temple is closed between Bhado to Krishna Paksha Ashwini. By praying here all wishes will be fulfilled. Huge crown gathered on Basant Panchami, Ramnavmi and Durga Puja.
