Kasmanda Palace is one of the oldest buildings of Mussoorie. It was originally a part of the Christ Church complex which was built in 1836 by Captain Rennie Tailour of the Bengal Engineers. It subsequently became a sanatorium for the British forces. Later, it was one of the first schools to be set up at Mussoorie. In 1915, it became the summer retreat of the royal family of Kasmanda.In 1992 Rajkumar Dinraj Pratap Singhji and Kunwarani Saheba Yadu Nandini Singh of Kasmanda converted the main building into a Heritage Boutique Hotel under the name of the Kasmanda Palace Hotel.At present Rajkumar Dinraj Pratap Singhji, along with his sons and grandsons, still visit and stay on the premises. Kasmanda Palace Mussoorie has been with the Kasmanda family now for 6 generations.In 2014 the property will have been with the Kasmanda Royal family for a 100 years.Kasmanda was one of the premier Taluqdaris of Awadh and is located near Lucknow.

Kasmanda Palace is located in the foothills of the Himalayan ranges, in the city of Mussoorie and is approachable by a motor road and has parking facilities for over 20 cars.The closest international airport is the, 'Indira Gandhi International Airport' situated in New Delhi at a distance of 280 kms from the town of Mussoorie. While the 'Jolly Grant National Airport' in the Dun valley is at a distance of 55 kms.The nearest Railhead is at Dehra Dun, 33 kms from Mussoorie. Dehra Dun is connected to most of the major cities of India. The ideal connections to New Delhi are the 02 'Shatabdi Express' railway trains. These get you to Dehra Dun in about 05 hours from New Delhi. They have, air-conditioned Chair cars, which are very comfortable.The distance by road from New Delhi to Dehra Dun is 250 kms and the average driving time should be 05 hours. From New Delhi one should take the National Highway No. 58 which will take you through the cities of MEERUT (take the bypass to the city), MUZAFFARNAGAR (take the by pass to the city) and ROORKIE. From here you should take the National Highway No. 73 to CHUTMALPUR from where you turn to your right for DEHRA DUN.The city of Dehra Dun is at a distance of 33 kms from Mussoorie. The hill road starts from here and the driving time to Mussoorie is about 01 hour. 03 kms before Mussoorie you come to the suburb of 'King Craig', from here you take the left turn to the 'Library Taxi Stand' end of Mussoorie. Once you reach the Library Chowk and or called the Gandhi Chowk, kindly take a U turn and drive on to the Mall road. About 300 yards down the road you pass the 'Vasu Theatre' on your right hand side and 20 yards ahead a road branches off to the left going upwards, from here the Kasmanda Palace Hotel's Sign boards will guide you to the hotel.
Kasmanda Palace has 24 elegant and spacious double bedrooms designed to offer you comfort that's inextricably linked to moments of yesteryears. A wonderful amalgamation of modernity fused with antiquity.There are three categories of Rooms.
Double Deluxe Rooms, Superior & Royal Rooms.
Deluxe Room : The base or standard room is called the Deluxe Rooms and are located in the Heritage Wing of the property. They do not have Garden or Doon Valley views.
Superior Room : The Superior Rooms can be subdivided into two categories. The Heritage Wing Rooms face the Doon Valley and the Modern Wing Rooms face the Garden Area.
Royal Room : The Royal Rooms are the most spacious rooms on the property and are located in the Heritage Wing. All these rooms face the Doon Valley or the Garden area.
In each room only 02 Adults & 02 Children are allowed or 03 Adults are allowed (conditions apply).
Being a Heritage Property no two rooms can be alike in size, shape or decor, except the Superior Rooms in the new wing.
