(Raja Rata) with all the history and important architecture of the
Cultural Triangle on the doorstep, yet you are nestled in 140
acres of mango orchards and surrounded by lakes and paddy fields.
Lounge on the spacious wrap-around verandah furnished with easy
chairs (haansi puttu) and enjoy the view across the large lawn.
Follow the myriad species of birds and butterflies into the mango
groves or visit the herbal garden and learn the secrets of
ayurvedic medicine.
For family occupation the 3 bedrooms easily sleep 8 people and the
informal atmosphere and dining arrangements make for a very
relaxed visit. Take advantage of the local menus and culinery
skills of your housekeeper, Mr Janaka, or stock up enroute and
bring your own basket of goodies.
This is an excellent opportunity to experience colonial life as
you return from the many cultural sites of this region

them and you will be accompanied by butterflies and birds; come in
season and you can pluck the fruit from the tree.
This is a newly-built house that’s been nicely designed in the old
colonial style, with a red tiled roof, a wrap-around veranda,
shuttered windows and white-washed walls. A very informal place,
so come to feel at home. It’s simple yet comfortable, rural yet
elegant. You’ll find more than just a touch of style. Haansi Puutu
(easy chairs) are sprinkled around the veranda, fresh flowers
adorn the rooms and the odd piece of art hangs on the walls. Don’t
miss the night sky either.
