Samburu : Heading North after an early breakfast , you'll
pass near Thika, and then on through Nanyuki town, a bustling
town in the foot hills of Africa's second highest mountain ,
Mount Kenya. Continue north through some breathtaking scenery
dotted with rushing mountain streams and fields of tea and
coffee and onwards eventually reaching a dusty out post known
as Isiolo. From here its a fairly short hop to your
destination : Samburu Serene Safari Lodge , arriving in time
for lunch. Situated along the banks of the Uaso Nyiro River,
in the heart of Samburu Reserve, Samburu Serena Safari Lodge
echoes the robust rhythms of river front life . Afternoon Game
drive of the reserve , leads you to the discovery of rare game
indigenous to this part of Kenya.

Spend the entire day in the reserve with morning and afternoon
game drives, seeking out the long neck generuk , grevy zebra
reticulated giraffe and Beisa Oryx just to mention a few.

03
|
Breakfast at
the lodge . Depart and journey southwards, reaching Nyeri , one of
Kenya's major town and provincial headquaters, and then on to the
Plush Aberdares Country Club in time for lunch. Nestled on the
slope of Mweiga Hill in a 1300 acre wildlife centaury , it enjoy
splendid views of the plains below with the Aberdares range of
mountain to the west and mount Kenya to the east. 1430 hrs Hotel
transport takes you to the Ark. The Ark is set in thick woodland
at the heart of the Aberdares National park affording
unforgettable night - time viewing of forest elephant and other
game , including the endangered black rhino , at the water hole
and salt lick . Among the game you are likely to see , please look
out for : Baboon , Buffalo, Bushbuck, Bush pig Civets , Duikers,
Elephant , Giant forest Hog,, Colobus and syke's Monkeys. The
birdlife includes some spices not common in other places among
them being : Green Ibis, Rufous Sparrow Hawk , Mountain Buzzard,
Crowned Eagle and the silvery - Cheeked - Hornbill.
NB :
Warm clothing is advisable
as night tends to be chilly, but only an overnight bag is
required.

Day 04
|
After an early breakfast, you are
transferred back to The Aberdares Country Club. Depart heading
west to Nayahururu, still known to many as Thompson's Falls for
its 237 foot cascade . After a brief stopover , travel in a
southerly direction to your next destination : Lake Nakuru ,
coloured a shimmering flamingo pink from thousand of the beautiful
birds lining its shores. Arrive at lion hill lodge affording
unforgettable views of the lake from its hillside preach. The
lodge also is perfect base from which explore the lake , with its
fabulous array of birds as well as many of game, including water
buck ,rhino, leopard, and buffalo. Lunch at the lodge . Enjoy an
afternoon game drive in the park. A game drive in Nakuru National
Park which is . of course , known for its bird life as thousand of
flamingos make this lake their home , among hundred of other
spices. But wildlife is also in abundance here. You'll see large
number of water buck ,warthog , impala , buffalo, plains game ,
cheetah, and now rhino, as Lake Nakuru National Park has been made
in to one of Kenya's rhino centaury.

Day 05
|
Early breakfast in the lodge
.Leaving Flamingo fringed lake Nakuru behind ,You will head
southwards and turn right to Maai Mahiu to Ascend up over the top
of the Mau Escarpment. Then heading due south , you will travel
towards Narok , Gateway to Maasai Mara and district Headquaters of
this part of maasailand . You'll travel across the "breadbasket"
of Kenya covered with acres of wheat and barely , you'll reach
your destination ,Mara Sarova Camp by lunch time. Located
within the boundaries of the Maasai Mara Game reserves this
comfortable luxury camp offers delicious meals and a
swimming pool , and makes a perfect base from which to explore the
wonders of this corner of Kenya . Lunch in the camp . Evening
game drive in in this magnificent game reserve. Maasai Mara is an
extension of the Serengeti ecosystem to the south . Game abounds
here, particularly when the migration is on , and million of wild
beast and zebra make their way back and forth across the Mara
river on their annual trek. The Mara is also noted for its
abundance of lions - Particularly the super black manned males.
You'll see lots of elephants here often in large herds , as well
as you are lucky Leopard , Cheetah, and Rhino. All of the big five
are residents. You're sure to see African buffalo . Get the camera
ready , Stock up on film and enjoy yourselves!

Full day at The Mara with both
morning and afternoon game viewing drivers in the reserve.

Day 07 |
After breakfast at the lodge ,
Depart Maasai Mara and head back to Narok , district headquaters
of this part of Maasailand and travel across the vast plain on the
floor of the rift valley ? Keep an eye out for the herds of
Giraffe and Gazelle and head up the Rift Escarpment on a road
built by Italian Prisoner of war during World War II .
You'll arrive in Kenya's bustling Capital city in the early
afternoon . Lunch on own arrangements. |
