Here
are a sampling of events organized throughout Malaysia. Some are
traditional events that have a long history and some are newer
events organised by the government to stimulate tourism. As such,
bear in mind, some are hits and some are misses.... Of course many
events events are geared towards the local population and as such
the language used will be Bahasa Melayu but don't let that hold you
back - GO! (especially to any dance or puppet show) you'll be
surprised how warmly you are welcomed
World Amateur Inter-Team Golf Championship
(WAITGC) WAITGC was organised with the objective of promoting
holiday destinations that offer golfing facilities to both the
international and local markets. The championship is open to teams
of amateur golfers
Colours of Malaysia
Presenting Malaysia's rich culture and tradition through a showcase
of cultural activities, handicrafts exhibition, sumptuous cuisine
and resplendent costumes. The Colours of Malaysia is also displayed
throughout the country for a whole month with a variety of cultural

Sales! Sales! And more Sales! Throughout Malaysia, all shopping
malls, stores, boutiques will participate in the creation of a

specials such as Made in Malaysia Exhibition and Malaysian Fashion
Week, where local designers display their latest creations
Water Festival
The month-long Water Festival is aimed at reviving the glorious
water-based events of our yesteryears. It also aims to instill
appreciation towards Malaysia's natural wonders and promote them as
a tourist attraction for the domestic and international market. Join
in for a splashing good time
Merdeka Day Parade
Malaysia celebrates 46 years of independence or 'Merdeka' on the
morning of 31st August with a colourful - grand parade at Putrajaya
Boulevard in Putrajaya with the theme of 'Keranamu Malaysia'.
Festivities start the night before with an open-air concert at the
same venue during the 'Merdeka Eve Celebrations' with popular
Malaysia singers & celebrities. Graced by His Majesty the Yang
Di-Pertuan Agong (the King), the Merdeka Day Parade is also attended
by government leaders & members of the diplomatic corps
