to Changanaserry, on the way to Alleppey from Trivandrum. The nearest
international airport is Nedumbassery at Ernakulam. Aquabliss can be

Place to Visit :
Champakulam has one of the oldest churches
in Kerala, the St. Mary’s church believed to be established by
St. Thomas, as an attraction. The St.Mary’s church is known for
its large paintings, which bring semblance to the West Minister Abbey in
London.
AmbalapuzhaSreeKrishna Temple is another
attraction that brings people in hordes to Kuttanad. Built in typical
Kerala architectural style, this temple is famous for the ‘Palpayasam’,
the daily offerings of the sweet milk porridge. It also has paintings of
‘Dashavataram’ displayed on the inner walls of ‘Chuttambalam’.
During festivals, the
whole place reverberates with the songs of several oarsmen, who are in
the euphoria after winning the nail biting boat race.
Another must-visit place
is the R-block Kayal. The R-Block Kayals are wonders of
indigenous agricultural engineering know-how of Kerala, similar to the
dikes of Holland. Here the cultivation and habitat are made possible
four to ten feet below sea level. A leisurely cruise along the canals
that surround these Kayals is a memorable experience
The snake boat race of
Champakulam is an occasion to look out for. One of the most cherished
sights, the snake boat race is liked by the locals as well as the
tourists alike. The snake boat (Chundan) varies between 100-300 feet in
length and can seat up to one hundred and twenty rowers on each side.
The main steer man of the boat stands and leads the boat in a
synchronized manner. The Champakulam Boat Race involves spectacular
water floats and Vanchipattu (traditional Boat Song), which is
conducted right in front of the resort, for the benefit of the visitors.

carried out in his direct supervision.
