Ayesha Manzil is a
traditional colonial home furnished with antiques and is a delightful
place to relax, particularly around the attractive swimming pool
designed to look like a temple tank. The owners, Moosa and Faiza, are
excellent hosts and are very knowledgeable about the area. Food is a
highlight here because Faiza is a well known cook specialising in the
‘Moplah’ cuisine of the area. Tellicherry Pepper, a gourmet cookery stay
is available at Ayesha Manzil (from three to six nights). It includes
full board accommodation, cookery classes each day and excursions (eg to
a local market, a cinnamon plantation, weaving centre, the beach, etc).
The
house on the hill was built by an English
colonel-turned-cinnamon-planter in 1862. In 1900 it was bought by Mr
