Gitanjali
Heritage, the sixty five year old home, earlier known as
Kodoth house, is a new venture in the heritage tourism sector at
Panayal at Kasaragod district of North Kerala.
Gitanjali Heritage is a two storied
home, 3100sq.ft in area. It has single and double bedrooms with modern
amenities. Its three large living halls will give one a taste of
traditional Kerala home, making it ideal for business meetings too
Panayal has a rich and varied
cultural history. The many " Tharavadus ", original centres of
clans with their " Theyyam ", the oldest ritualistic temple art
form in India and one of the most spectacular in terms of artistry and
symbolism. Theyyam literally means a form or shape, which is usually
the representation of a divine or heroic character from mythology.Yakshagana,
a classical art form of Karnataka is very common in Kasaragod. Two
variations of this performing art are Bayalattu and Bommayattu. We
offer you a chance to enjoy the heritage of our place. There is an
ancient fort in Panayal contemporary to the Bekal, shows the
historical significance of the place. The historic Shiva Temple, with
its red brick " Gopurams " and "Chuttu Mathil" has an
importance in the social and spiritual life of the village people.
Apparently this was built by late Kookal Chindan Nair, the owner of
Gitanjali Heritage.

During stay, one can
certainly enjoy the varied natural surroundings ,lush green fields
with variety of crops and vegetables cultivated round the year.
Arrangements will be made for Ayurvedic rejuvenation and relaxation
therapies on request .One can also get an insight to the traditional
medicinal systems like ottamooli. Professional assistance for
practicing Yoga and Reiki will be made available during stay. Glimpses
of Indian astrology ,horoscope etc can also be made available at the
heritage.
There are a host of indoor games like chess, carroms,
scrabbles, monopoly and badminton. The heritage boasts of a luscious
green jogging path. Internet facilities are also available at the
heritage.
Conducted tours can also be arranged for the tourists.
Traditional Indian cuisine is available in the resort
for the inmates. Menu includes North Kerala specialties also.
The promoter with twenty years of international
exposure has sufficient experience and customs to deal with
international strata of tourists and posses the knowledge of local
festival and associated myths.
