The Taj Residency at Calicut is
a business hotel located in the historically significant spice trading town and sea port
of the Malabar Coast. Calicut has a spice trading history that goes back to 40 BC and
today exports pepper, arecanut, cardamom and other spices to Europe, America and Japan.
Its busy Court Road is the centre of spice trading activity, where farmers meet buyers and

national airport and a railway station. The airport is situated 25 km, away from the hotel
while the railway station is 3 km. away.
