Location :
Bethsaida is situated in Pulinkudy village, near
Kovalam, which is 19 KM from Trivandrum International Airport. And 21 KM from
Trivandrum Bus station and Railway station.
Accommodation :
Accommodations are of in cave built cottages,
which are built for people who love solitude and serenity. The floors in the
caves are tiled. Another type of accommodations are in traditional Kerala
style eco friendly cottages, which have thatched palm leaves, the floor is
made up of using vegetable juices. The cots are made from coconut tree wood
and all furniture and fittings wherever possible have been made from local
products. The garden bathrooms are spacious and heaters are provided.
The Beach :
With its fine golden sand, is in a
small bay between two rocky headlands exclusively belonging to
Bethsaida. Few tourists find their to way to this beach. As a part
of the Bethsaida’s eco friendly policy the few traditional people
continue their activities at the beach. Bethsaida provides a
lifeguard, beach umbrellas and mats for specific needs.
The Restaurant : Which is an open sided traditional building offers the best South Indian, Chinese and Continental cuisine. Vegetables from the garden are used in the kitchen. Ayurveda Treatment : The authentic Ayurvedic treatments are given for any kind. The treatment includes Pizhichil, Njavarakizhi, Rejuvenation therapy, Armani Kizhi, Dahra, Sirovasti, Udvarthanam, Nasyam, Kizhi, Oil massage, Slimming Programme etc. Yoga Course : Yogis will help you to become fitter more flexible through physical exercise, breathing exercise. Meditation : Meditations are taught and guided to those interested, which brings order, awareness and newness in every day life. Bethsaida
means a place of friendship, nests, healing, and sanctuary. A charitable
institution owns Bethsaida Hermitage (an Eco Friendly Ayurvedic Beach Resort)
and income from this most beautiful place is directed towards most of our
charitable activities. The institution runs an orphanage offering home and
education to over 600 boys and girls, parenting 2000 children in the villages,
provides employment for young women from poorest families, conducts retreats and
counselling. Guests staying here need never know of the of the institutions
existence (as there are 20 acres of land) however anyone who is interested need
only take a short walk around the grounds and they will soon find a varieties of
activities going on including: weaving and coir carpet making- The young women
doing the weaving and coir carpet are not only learning how to run a business,
The income earned is directly used for their dowry for the marriage.
