Rajasthan-the
land of Rajas (kings). The name brings images of magnificent
palaces, impressive forts, well laid gardens, gorgeous temples
virtually the colorful jewel of India. SHEKHAWATI, the garden of
shekha. Shekhawati is the north eastern region of Rajasthan was
ruled by Rao Shekha ji in the year 1433, who is considered the
heroic man in the history of Shekhawati till today.
Facilities :
The Rang Mahal is the main attraction of the castle, colourfully
decorated with family portraits, paintings,arms and comfortable
furniture.This is one place the guest will never tire of. It is a
three tier affair,the large hall,the elevated sitout and a further
elevated portion that houses family temple.The pillars add a
distinct charm.
Accommodation :
The
Castle provides the following types of accommodations:-
Accommodation is available in the
Rawla which has 9 suites, 5 twin bedded rooms and 2 single rooms.
Rooms have been planned for basic comfort keeping an ethnic touch.
All the rooms are different, some have pillared divisions and have
jharokhas [ balconies ].
SUITES:
Suites still have the character and reflection of their original
occupants. The furnishings and décor has not been changed much and
the visitors can still get a glimpse of the splendid past of
Rajasthan while staying in the suites. Suites have depiction of rich
paintings, art and handicrafts. The imposing and impressive décor of
suites will provide you the comfort of Royal Rajasthan.
ROOMS:
The rooms have the old world charm with old types of pillars &
partition walls. The rooms have been decorated and furnished in
traditional style also taking care of all the basic comforts. All
the rooms have an attached bath with running hot & cold water.
The rooms reflect a way
of life. Extensive use of 'muddhas', traditional sofasmade from
grass, making them the most environment friendly furniture, takes
one back to the time when the Castle came in to being. Yet, comfort
has been the hallmark of fittings. They also provide writing table,
clothes closets, etc. Above all, the construction of the castle is
based on sound 'vasthu shasthras' [ Indian architectural science ]
making all who live in them peaceful.
Safaries :
Jeep safaries can be
arranged to the Harsh Mountains, Jeen Mata ji temple or to Khatu
Shyam ji.
These safaries can be of duration as suitable to the guests.Bullock
and camel cart rides as well as camel and horse safaries can also be
arranged.
