Fernhills Palace is situated at Fernhill, Ooty, the Nilgiris, Tamil Nadu. Located in 50 acres of land with sprawling lawns, beautiful gardens, dense forests, rich and stunning views overlooking lush green valleys and tea gardens. The palace, superbly finished with Burmese teak, features a magnificent ballroom with a high valued ornamental papier-mache ceiling. This has two overlooking galleries, one veiled with lace curtains for the ladies of the household and the other for the court orchestra.

The first Fernhills bungalow was built in 1844 by Capt. F. Cotton. It changed several hands as time went by till mid 1860, when it was temporarily named Moonesami and served as one of Ooty’s earliest country club hotels.

This palace has exclusive Suites, which comprise of a large sitting room, bedroom, dressing room, sit outs and huge bathrooms. All guest rooms have fireplaces with provision for a log fire, which is a unique feature of the palace.
