Pahalgam
- the valley of shepherds is situated at a height of 7200 ft and is about
100 kms distance from Srinagar ( Nearest access to the air port) sprawling
amidst the confluence of river lidder, Pahalgam is Kashmir's most popular
& picturesque resort.
Pahalgam hotel and pahalgam

Attraction :
Around Pahalgam, there are locations which
are about one or two days trip away. Some of the popular ones are:-
Aru
- a sleepy village 10 kms from Pahalgam, is the first step on the way to
the world famous Kohlai glacier. From here one can also trek to Tarsar,
Marsar lakes or Sonamarg.
Baisaran
- (motrobale and about 3 kms away from Pahalgam) is a lush
green meadow surrounded by thick forest. One can trek to Tulian lake from
here (day trip).
Chandanwari
( 16 km away also motrable) is the starting
point for the annual Amarnath Yatra. One can go upto Sheshnag lake in a
days return trek.
Around and within Pahalgam,
there is Shikergah, Dubian and Mamal Temple (dates back to 14th century)
all which can be travelled on foot or pony. Pahalgam also has a 9 hole
golf course, (being upgraded to 18 holes shortly) with refreshing view of
pine trees. Pahalgam especially is honeymooner's paradise.
