Built in 1920, by Maharaj Ratan
Singhji of Raoti who was a keen horse lover and one of the
greatest polo players of his time, Hotel Ratan Vilas with its
imposing but delicately carved exterior and simple yet comfortable
interiors, is a genuine heritage edifice in a sylvan setting.
The villa of Hotel Ratan Vilas is reminiscent of the romance of
the bygone era, has been converted into a hotel, with the exception
that it also continues to be the home to the grandson of Late Maharaj
Ratan Singhji, Maharaj Bharat Singhji and his family. So whether you
are in the formal drawing room admiring the family portraits and
photographs or unwinding in the casual surroundings of the courtyard;
whether you are savouring the traditional delicacies in the dinning
room or bird watching in the garden wreathed with seasoned Neem trees
housing about twenty different species of birds, the family is always
around to offer you the legendary Rajput hospitality blended with a
cheerful and homely atmosphere.
Ratan
Vilas Hotel exudes an aura distinctly its own - enhanced by its rich
and varied collection of paintings, treasure troves and hunting
trophies of yesteryear. Everything is well preserved by the royal
family, which still uses a part of the building as its home. The
magnificent sandstone building, built for Sir Ratan Singhji, the
Maharajadhiraj of Jodhpur , tastefully blends the lavish interiors and
modern comforts. Present day facilities are harmonized so as not to
disturb the antiquity of the royal abode.
The rooms here are tastefully furnished with colonial furniture,
damask, upholstry and persian carpets on wooden floors. The hotel
provides modern amenities offering an array of personalised yet
