The Old Courtyard Hotel,
classified as an Heritage property by the Government of India, is an oasis
in the midst of Fort Cochin in the beautiful state of Kerala in India. The
National Geographic magazine recently rated Kerala as one of the
"Fifty Places of a Lifetime" and describes it as "Paradise Found". It
has been lovingly restored to its original grandeur, with ancient arches and
alcoves around an enchanting courtyard, giving it a sense of peace and
serenity.
Accommodation :
The hotel has eight rooms
overlooking the courtyard. Each room, with its restored wooden floors, old
furniture and unique four poster beds with mirrors and tiles fitted in the
wood work, transports guests to a bygone era of luxury and comfort.
Facilities and Services : The
restaurant on the verandah spills into the courtyard, shaded by an ancient
mango tree. It offers the perfect spot to sit and enjoy a cup of coffee.
There are live performances of South Indian music and dance on most evenings
at the courtyard. The restaurant at the Courtyard offers a range of cuisine
reflecting the diverse backgrounds and the varied experiences of the hosts;
Jacob and Rose Kuruvinakunnel. The menu is Continental, along with Kerala
and Asian flavours with Seafood as specialities, fresh from the famous
fishing nets of Cochin. We offer day tours to exotic destinations in the
interiors of Central Kerala.
