Restaurants:A
restaurant serving snacks, meals, and hot and cold beverages
is located in the departure lobby.
SriLankan Airlines
also operates a restaurant in the transit lounge. The
restaurant serves both local and international
cuisine.
Money
Changers:Six banks operate at the
arrival lobby providing currency exchange and re-exchange
facilities.
Communication
Facilities:Telephone booths, both
coin operated and phone card operated, are located in the
arrival, departure and transit areas. Telephone facilities are
provided at the arrival and exit areas for incoming
passengers. A communications counter is located in the transit
lounge with International Direct Dialling and Fax
facilities.
Medical FacilitiesA first-aid centre staffed with qualified nurses
is located in the Arrival Immigration area. Doctors are on
call from a nearby hospital to provide preliminary medical
care. An ambulance is on standby in the event of a passenger
needing further medical attention.

Visas:Your
passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your
intended stay in Sri Lanka. Visas may be obtained at the
Airport for a 30-day period. However, citizens of some
countries need to obtain visas prior to their arrival in Sri
Lanka. Please contact the Sri Lankan High Commission/Embassy
in your country for further details.
Duty Free Shopping
:A number of duty free shops are available at both
the Arrival and Departure Terminals selling a variety of
products including handicrafts, silk items, jewellery,
perfumes, cashew and tea.
The duty free concessions allowed into Sri
Lanka: • 200 cigarettes, 50 cigars or 12 ounces of
tobacco • 2 bottles of wine • 1 ½ litres of spirits •
2 ounces of perfume and ¼ litre of toilet water
Bond
Baggage:If you
visit Sri Lanka for a short period of time (up to 45 days) you
can take advantage of the Airport's bond baggage facility.
Your baggage will be checked by Customs and Airport Security
and then will be sealed and transferred to the departure
terminal where it will be stored until your next flight. The
payment is to be made when collecting your baggage. For

Transit Facilities:There are a number of fully air-conditioned day
rooms with attached toilets for transit passengers who wish to
stretch out and rest. These rooms are available at both the
arrival and departure terminals.Shower rooms are available in the transit
lounge for your convenience.
These facilities are provided by the Airport
and Aviation Services Ltd. SriLankan Airlines operates a restaurant in the
transit lounge. The restaurant serves both local and
international cuisine.Transport between the
Airport and the City of Colombo An
intercity bus service operates from the Airport. Buses leave
for Colombo every 30 minutes. An Airport Taxi Service with a
fleet of over 600 vehicles also operates a counter at the
arrival lobby. The Taxi Service can be contacted on Tel:

Nightstop (CPS):If you are flying into Colombo on a SriLankan
Airlines flight and are in transit for over 8 hours before
connecting to another SriLankan Airlines flight, SriLankan
Airlines will provide you with hotel accommodation, airport
transfers and meals for a maximum of 24 hours. You can contact
the Nightstop (CPS) counter at the Airport on 073-2407.

Check-in Business
Class A separate counter for
Business Class travellers ensures that you receive priority
check-in. Skywards Gold and Silver members can also check-in
at the Business Class counter. Please check-in at least two
hours before the expected time of departure.
Economy
Class Our courteous staff is trained to facilitate a
smooth check-in process. Please check-in at least three hours
before the expected time of departure.
Baggage
Allowance Piece Luggage
Concept:The two piece luggage concept is not
applicable to SriLankan Airlines passengers. However, if you
are flying onwards to America on another carrier from Europe,
the Middle East or South East Asia you will be given the
benefit of the two-piece concept provided you are through
ticketed. Both pieces of luggage should not exceed a combined
weight of 64 kg.
PetsCats,
dogs, rabbits, birds and live fish are considered pets and can
be carried as checked baggage. The total weight of the pet,
the cage and food will be charged at the normal excess baggage
rate, regardless of how much you may carry.
Special Baggage
Allowance Golfing
Equipment :Each passenger is permitted to carry one
bag containing Golf clubs / one pair Golf shoes weighing not
more than 15 kg at a special charge equivalent to that of 6 kg
at the applicable excess baggage rate based on the weight
concept.
The Golf equipment may also be included
into the free baggage allowance. Any excess weight will be
assessed at the special rate given above, or at the normal
excess baggage rate, whichever is less.
Snow Skiing
Equipment Each passenger is permitted to carry one
set of Snow Skiing equipment at a special charge equivalent to
that 3 kg at the applicable excess baggage charge regardless
of its actual weight.If the equipment is included as part of the
free baggage allowance, any excess
weight will be assessed at the normal excess baggage rate or
at the special rate, whichever is less. If there is more than one set of
equipment the normal excess baggage charge will be applicable
for the additional equipment carried. Windsurfing/Surfboard/Diving
Equipment:Passengers may carry either one Surfboard
or one Windsurfing or one Diving equipment within the free
baggage allowance. Any excess weight
will be assessed at the normal excess baggage rate.
If there is more than one equipment, the
normal excess baggage charge will be applicable for the
additional equipment carried.
Bicycles:Bicycles can be included
in the free baggage allowance. Any excess weight will be
assessed at the normal excess baggage rate.
Airport
Tax :Departing passengers who have
stayed in Sri Lanka for over 24 hours are required to pay an
embarkation tax of Rs. 1,000.00 (approx. USD 12). Transit
passengers continuing their journey within 24 hours are exempt
from the tax.
