Coconut Lagoon is a deliberately created
harmony. Our purpose is always to enhance nature rather than control it.
Take the butterfly garden, a little experiment of ours. We found a space
with natural moisture, sunlight and a profusion of wild flowers.
So we added some flowing water, a few well-chosen plants and voila...a
garden alive with flashing wings.
All over the grounds.the Vechoor cow can be seen
patiently
doing ...well, whatever it is that cows patiently do.
Once nearly extinct, Vechoors are among the world's smallest breeds of cows,
yet give
some of the best milk yields for their body weight (the
milk's also medicinal, used in ayurvedic treatments).
Ours are specially bred, and tend to be a bit snooty as a result.

The herbs used are pure, plucked often from our own herb garden, processed in strict accord with the ancient texts of 'Charaka' and the 'Samhita'.
Our masseurs are trained in Kerala's famed Ayurvedic schools with specialisation in key techniques, an expertise honed through years of experience.
A Unique Biosphere
A solitary Cormorant dries its wings, before preparing for another dive. The area around the Vembanad lake is a treasure- trove for naturalists, with a profusion of plants, fish species, and of course, the birds of the Kavanar Sanctuary.
