As you speed through the expressways of success,
take your foot off the pedal for a moment and gaze into the rear view
mirror of your life.
It’s time to return to the basics…to the simple
pleasures of childhood…to relive the unbridled joys of being young and
carefree…when every holiday was spent at your grandma’s place in your
native village.
Our Native Village takes you back to
those golden years, when life was all about kite flying, top spinning
battles, catapult fights, marbles, gilli danda and hop scotch. When
scaling new heights meant how high you could climb the guava tree and
innovation was all about stealing mangoes from your neighbour's tree
under his nose! When a wedding in the family unleashed the artist in you
and you carried out 'your experiments with mehendi'.
These long forgotten joyful
experiences, treasured in some forgotten corner of your memory, are what
we bring back to life at Our Native Village.
The experiences we offer you are unlike
any other.

Our Native Village recreates the
ambience of a typical, traditional Indian village, which embodies the
true spirit of India like nothing else can. With mud brick edifices,
quaint tiled roofs and a landscape that is punctuated with
Herostones that
tell tales of the glories of yester year.
In this picturesque, rustic setting,
you enjoy a plethora of facilities that will make your experience all
the more authentic and enjoyable. From comfortable rooms furnished
thematically to swank state of the art conference facilities that have
been creatively blended seamlessly into the rural simplicity of Our
Native Village.
The Village has been built almost
entirely using materials from the locality and from the site itself.
Most of the roofs are arched panels using oven baked mud tiles with
minimal use of steel. Coconut weed leaves have also been used in places
The layout of both the public and
private areas have been planned to allow for maximum natural light and
ventilation. The windows have been placed to funnel the wind, through
the deft positioning of large size and small windows diametrically
opposite each other, in the direction of the prevailing winds in the
area.
You will notice a tangible drop in
temperature once you enter any of our structures, and a gentle draught
moving in the air.
Hero Stones
Veerakallu, or hero stones, are a
phenomenon unique to Karnataka. These approximately five feet tall
granite stones are inscribed with the glorious deeds of the kings and
knights of bygone times, some of them being over a 1000 years old. The
landscape of Karnataka is liberally dotted with these stones that are a
unique combination of art, poetry and historical fact and give us
valuable insights into the fascinating times that our forebears lived
in.
You will find specially recreated
replicas of these hero stones scattered across our Native Village as
well. Studying them is an absorbing and enriching experience.
