LOCAL TRANSPORT RULES
The three ways of getting around in Mysore
Auto Rickshaws: The most reliable and easily
available mode of transport in the city. During the day,
always pay by the meter. After 10pm the drivers charge
50% over the meter and after mid night double the meter.
Private Taxis : There are many Car rental
companies available. Check with your hotel car rental
companies. They are generally reliable and affordable.
Buses : Avoidable if you can, but could be a great
experience if you are up to an adventure.
Tongas : These horse driven carts can take you
through the city at their own pace. If you have the time
this mode of seeing the city is recommended as this could
provide you with rare sights and smell of the town
By Road:Mysore is located 139 Kms. to the
south west of Bangalore. The state highway that connects
the two cities could provide a pleasant ride through
rustic country side. A bus or car ride from Bangalore
would take approximately 3 hours. Seagull Travels has 4 packages covering Mysore & other places.
By Train:Mysore is again connected with many trains to
Bangalore. Also the prestigious luxury train, Shatabdi
Express connects it to Madras
Air:The nearest Airport is Bangalore (139
Kms).
