Climate:October to February are the winter months. March to April and August - September are moderate. May to July are hot months.

What to wear:Natural Khakhis, Grey and Green Cloths recommended - avoid bright and white colours cloths. Also carry Jungle Cap, Sunglasses, Camera, Binoculars.

Though the general public prefers thronging the Park from November till March when it is relatively cool at Ranthambore, professional photographers consider April till June as perhaps the best period for their pursuits, when the nature of the dry deciduous forests makes animal sightings around the waterbodies common.

Approach : Sawai Madhopur railway station is about 180 km away from Kota on the Bombay-Delhi broadgauge line between Kota and Bharatpur. It is 1027 km from Bombay and 361 km from Delhi. From Delhi one can drive either on the Delhi-Jaipur-Tonk-Sawai Madhopur route or along the Delhi-Bharatpur-Dosa-Sawai Madhopur stretch. However, the Jaipur route has roads in better condition.
