 This food festival gives opportunity to savour
the culinary delights of not only the Kerala cuisine by also the cuisine of the whole of
Asia .Onam Celebration (Aug/ Sept) The Onam celebration is another interesting event . The streets are decorated with lighting and traditional cultural programmes are held at the Kanakakunnu Palace and other places in the city.
Conducted by the Dept of Tourism, the four day festival is an important tourist event with folk art performance, boat races, Kalaripayyattu demonstrations and the Elephant march. The festival concludes in Kovalam with a sea side barbeque.
