We
start out tour with a photo stop at Jumeirah mosque, one of the most
beautiful Mosques in the U.A.E. A short drive takes us to Sheikh Saeed’s House, the home of the grandfather of the present Ruler of
Dubai, Sheikh Makhtoum Bin Rashid Al Makhtoum. Here we can view the
traditional and simple lifestyle of the region in the bygone days.
There after we visit the Diving village where a short video
presentation will give you an insight into the diving trade, which
in the yesteryears was the main trade in Dubai. We continue on our
tour, past Bastakia the old quarter with its wind tower houses, to
the Al Fahidi Fort, which houses the Dubai Museum. At the museum we
see the traditional life and trade of the region, the museum also
gives you the opportunity to see the development of Dubai in the
past 60 years.

A short walk through the textile market will take
us to the Abra (water taxi) stand to take a unique ride on the water
taxi across the creek.
A walk along the creek takes us to the Heritage
house, built in 1890, the best example of a traditional Emirati
family home. Adjacent to the heritage house is the oldest school in
the U.A.E., Al Ahmadiya School, the seat of education in the bygone
days. Some members of the present ruling family have been students
here. After visiting the school we return to our hotel.
