| Key Attractions: Among the key attractions will be a daily raffle
offering Rolls Royce cars. A record number of 31 Rolls Royces will be given away during
the month-long festival. Tickets priced at Dhs 200 will be sold at various places in
Dubai. Only 5,000 tickets will be sold per day in the capped raffle.
The daily gold promotion will give away
1 kg of gold, and a bumper prize of more than 10 kg of gold on the last day of the
Festival. Another promotions will give away one Nissan Patrol four-wheel drive on each day
of the 31-day festival.
A brand new attraction will be Disney
on Ice, a lavish international show involving 85 artists to be held at the Airport
Expo Dubai from March 9 to 28.
Other highlights include a series of
programmes and activities designed on the DSF 2000 theme To Mother With Love, a
daily half- hour laser show at Al Seef Street to celebrate the fifth DSF, the
International Computer Cubs Challenge, a dazzling Opening Ceremony on Sheikh Zayed Road,
Cable Car rides at the Creek Park, a Smirfs Show at Mamzar Park and special Eid concerts.

Several key attractions of last year
will be hosted again, including the Dubai World Cup, Global Village, Carpet Oasis, the
Etisalat Internet Café, Aqua Fantasia Show, Dolphin Show, Childrens Travelling
Theatre, the daily fireworks display and fun events on main streets.
Once again, Dubais beautiful
streets will be turned into colourful venues for a host of DSF activities, exuding the
excitement of the unique shopping festival. Street performers, clowns, magicians and
fun-fairs will keep visitors entertained throughout the festival.

Dubais beautiful parks will be
used for various entertainment activities such as Cable Car rides introduced to coincide
with DSF 2000, Dubai Creek Tours, Mini Fun Fair, Space Ship, Remote-control boats, World
of Ice, Flower Garden, Park Taxis, Spiderman Zone, Trampoline, helicopter tours, China
Town and Acrobatics Show.

The Shindagha area will come alive with
numerous heritage-related activities during the Festival. The area will host traditional
games and competitions, handicrafts show, falconry shows, live performances by traditional
bands, the Police Band, an Antiques Souq, food court, camel and horse rides and pearl
search.
Dubai Shopping Festival, launched in February
1996, has now firmly entrenched itself on the world map as an entertainment-cum-shopping
mega-event. Its phenomenal success has been attributed to the unique synergy between the
Government and the private sector in creating a high profile event which has become a
major global brand in just four years, and given rise to many clones in the region.
