The
desire for an adoption has a long history and has incurred in our second tour India.
As head of a kindergarten teacher and professional interest was in our family to
social institutions abroad have always been large. We
had so many times the opportunity to homes and nurseries in Asia
and visit children know, their parents could no longer care for her.
This has made us very thoughtful and deeply touched emotionally.
That an adoption would be such a hard road, we could not imagine at this time.
The First Efforts
After several tours through various
regions of India, fascinated by the hospitality and openness of the people, we
have chosen to adopt an Indian girl. We
wanted to take a girl in our family because they are in India often treated
worse than boys. You
will not receive the same medical care including in education and the boys would
rather be a family promoted.On
the other hand, we have seen on visits to various children's homes in Madras,
Calcutta and Rajkot, it mainly girls are in the homes that are released for
international adoption because the boys usually do not have a chance to be
taught in the country.
On 02 June
1998 we sent the first request of pro Infante, an approved adoption agency, with
a request for information. On
31.08.1998, the answer came that at the time, no new candidates will be included
in the proceedings and that this stop will last until late 1998.We
were not introduced a waiting list, which was enough for us at this time. We
put together a photo session, filled out the questionnaire carefully and put
together the necessary documents. (Birth
certificate, marriage certificate, certificate, etc.)
In parallel, we will contact the Social Catholic women in Werl, in conjunction, we
were in contact with Pro Infante to us again and again but indicating that the
adoption had been extended even stop. We were still Geduld.Im August so it was a
bright spot , Pro Infante youth has prompted adoption make a suitability report. Should
it go at last? us responsible for the office of SKF told us that we go through
an application procedure, and - and require health clearance certificates. On
the other talks were, candidate group evenings and a weekend seminar added
personal. We
received a positive social report, the pro forwarded wurde.Da Infante now four
years gone by were at, we have also with the Adoptions-switching connection
is set in Hamburg in ICCO. Here
we are told but the placement criteria in relation to age and sex of the child
not to. So we had to practice on us patience and regular Pro Infante call to
state of things to ask for the. With
horror, we have this way from the non-renewed license of Pro Infante to learn. Carla
Wiedeking, founder of the exchange but assured us the license to get back soon
and then continue their work quickly.
In April 2003 we were Mrs Wiedeking invited to Kempen. We
had a long conversation, but Pro Infante had at that time no new license shall
always receive. We asked them to
support themselves because we wanted to bring to India our papers to us
personally in an present
children's home. She held that even
for the best and put forth a contact. Now
it was back clearance certificates, health certificates, reference letters to
obtain evidence of content and update the Social Report. Everything
had to, authenticated and translated in Indian Embassy in Frankfurt are the
legalized by a notary. With these
papers, we have August 2003 on his way to India was made in Delhi told us where
that we are in children's home in Pune one can imagine us. Once
there were two of us Mandir homes by shown. In
Unit 1 years, 350 children aged from 1 day to about 15 serves. They
are well promoted and it will also be sought on vocational training and
integration into independent living unterstützt.Unit 2 is a smaller home and
cared for approximately 75 children aged 1 day to about 8 years.
Here we were presented our first daughter Dhanwantari. Barely
six months, tiny and pretty. They laughed at us and we loved her immediately won. Your
medical records was explained to us and we learned that she has two holes in the
heart (VSD). We wanted it anyway and
left them for examination by a pediatric cardiologist, as it stands at. He
told us that a hole width closed and the other has become is less clear. In
Germany, we could help her, so we agreed to the adoption. After
two wonderful days with her, we had to adopt and take
home. The
leave us fell damn hard, but we had the time to give the Indian authorities, to
clarify whether Dhanwantari for a foreign adoption is free. A
grueling time of waiting firmly begann.Inzwischen was that the Infante license
as soon would not get back Pro. Since
India on 06 June 2003 and Germany on
23 2001, the Hague Convention have
ratified in October, so contract States and the Protection of Children and
Cooperation in Respect of Intercountry Adoption support has to happiness, the
central adoption office of the Land youth welfare office in Münster has agreed
to our right to take our case. Here we met highly motivated staff who are
committed and competent in the matter ingen struggled a lot. They were a great
help to us. Even the District Youth
Welfare Soest has always advised us well and cared for.
Depressing News
Am 28.12. Came
2003 frome
shattering news that Dhanwantari pneumonia died was one of.It
broke a world together for us. If everything now to be the end? Had
we the power for a second attempt?
We did not know what was bigger, the anger or sadness. What
will it do now?
Good Communication
On 6 January 2004, a tiny ray of
hope: A mail from India with a name and a date of birth. Kishori-10.08.2003
with the request whether we will adopt this girl. could
no photo and details about the health and we wanted to take any decision. By
asking a good friend in India to fly to Pune, to take pictures and send us.
Early March 2004, arrived the desired images. There
was no doubt this sweet, tiny girl of four months in the pink dress should be
our daughter.
Trip to India
Once here and there, documents, some by mail were be demanded, we went on our
trip on 10/06/2004. We wanted to
first Kishoris Celebrate his birthday
with her and.
Finally arrived in Pune, it was already too late to visit Kishori. One night we
had to hold on to them in person. The
next morning at 10.00 clock we were abgeholt.Wir were so excited and nervous. As
we sat for the second time in the office of Mandir and Kishori suddenly
stood on the arm of her Nanny in a yellow Tüllkleidchen in the door. They
should be our daughter. It was love
at first sight
Kishories 1st Birthday
Now were even still be demanded some papers, though before we left everything
was in order. These documents have
worried for us, dear friends in Germany and sent to India. Our
court date was set, and on another visit we had to wait a long time. But
now we were five weeks in Indies.
Once the OK was given to CARA, the case went to court, here are the guardianship
was awarded for Kishori, which is the prerequisite for an Indian passport and a
visa. At this hearing we did not have
to be present, but were represented by our social worker.
Now we were invited to the official, very solemn handover. We
were slung wreaths and flowers painted a Tikka point on the forehead. Thomas
had to smash a coconut on a stone, which he managed very well. If
the nut is broken into many parts, the family has a lot of luck, and we were now
happy.
After the ceremony, and the snack we were adopted. The
warden gave Kishori Samtbeutelchen a small red with a silver chain. It
should be a keepsake, reminding them of the time with Mandir for them. We
found this very kind attention.
With the receipt of the passport we could now look after the visa and get away
from Mandir and Pune. Kishori
had become so well used to us that they would no longer even on the arm of her
nanny and cuddle under protest from her left.
Then we went to Bombay to the German Embassy. The
official was very pleased to see us.But he knew the district of Soest and his
father came from there native. The
world is after all small.
With the visa in his pocket could now go really nothing wrong. So we enjoyed at
last rest in our India trip in Bombay on Juhu - Beach.
Back Home
Once in Frankfurt, we were very fond of roses and champagne welcome. At
home waiting for our parents, relatives and friends, what have been very touched
and we were glad to be back home.
All this has now been almost a year her.Wir can say looking back that it was not
easy to adopt Kishori. But it was
worth it. We are very happy with our
daughter Kishori-Lalitha-Marie.
We try with a strong Indian self-educate. It is important when a child
understands where his roots are. We
want to teach her much about her Indian culture. As
we know India well, we can tell her about the beautiful side of the cultural
treasures, traditions and natural beauty. If
she is old enough, they will get to know their country and proud of it.
