"Arco
Iris”, meaning "Rainbow" in
Portuguese, is a 100 + year old, elegantly restored ,colonial house
built on a sprawling, terraced, 1.5 acre property. It overlooks a
seasonal lake and is about a Km from the Zuari river.
The proximity to the lake and the abundant greenery, in and around
the property, ensures a scenic ambience right through the year.
Arco Iris
is located in Curtorim, a quiet village in South Goa, about 7kms from
Margao. The village is dotted with seasonal lakes and paddy fields
and is often referred to as the “Granary of Goa”. Besides being
popular with bird watchers as a destination and the attendant photo
shoot opportunities that it affords, Curtorim and its adjoining
villages house several places of historical interest.
All the bedrooms and the lounge have been
suitably modified to accommodate ensuite bathrooms with all modern
amenities. The colors of the bedrooms have been picked keeping in mind
the colors of the rainbow, and therefore we can offer you a choice of
yellow, blue, green, violet, orange and indigo rooms.
The house, with a built up area of around
7,000 sq feet, comprises an entrada (foyer), sala”(living
room), dining room, five bedrooms with en suite bathrooms (four
on the ground floor and one on the first floor), lounge, library, fully
equipped modern kitchen, utility area, two store rooms and accommodation
for the support staff. Three of the bedrooms open into private
balconies. It also has a balcao (balcony) and gallery in front
and a courtyard in the rear.

Activities Around Arco
Iris

Walk to St Alex Church, about 2 kms from
Arco Iris along tree lined country roads. The church, which
dominates the topography of Curtorim is one of the oldest churches
in India having been built in 1597.
- Cycle to Rachol seminary , about 8
kms from Arco Iris, crossing the Curtorim and Maina lakes along the
route. The seminary is one of the oldest in Asia and affords an
opportunity to interact with the seminarians. The seminary also
houses a library which boasts an extensive collection of books on
philosophy and theology.
- Visit to Braganza Mansion, a
magnificent country mansion in the village of Chandor and take a
guided tour of the mansion.
- Cycle to Chandor and go for a
heritage walk in and around Chandor which will cover places of
archaeological value. Chandor is about 4 kms from Arco Iris.
- Walk to the Zuari River and go on a
boat ride with a local "gondolier"
- Visit to the Big Foot museum and
Ancestral village in Loutolim and drop in at the Figueirado’s for
tea.
- Visit the 400 year old Palacio De
Deao, about 15 kms away from Arco Iris. The garden around the palace
is possibly the best in the state. With prior appointment it is
possible to have a cozy candlelit dinner.
- Spend an evening at the Colva/
Benualim/ Varca beach. Colva, the closest beach is about 12 kms from
Arco Iris.
- Visit the famous Mangeshi and Datta
Mandir temples
- Picnic on the banks of the Zuari
- Wildlife safaris in the protected
areas of Cotigao, Mahavir, Bondla or Mhadei.

Accessibility
By Air
Curtorim is 32 kms from
the Dabolim Airport.
By Road
Curtorim is about 10 kms from the Margao
Bus Terminus.
From the Big Foot-Bolshe circle take the
road leading to Raia. Continue along the Raia Road and cross the Sonsodo
Garbage Disposal yard. Take the right immediately after Sonsodo and
continue towards St. Alex Church, Curtorim. After the Church, continue
along the Macazana Road till you reach Carmel High School and Church,
about 1.5 kms from St. Alex. Take the left directly opposite
Carmel High School and proceed for about 0.7 kms along the perimeter of
the Corjim lake to reach Arco Iris which will be on your left if you are

By Train
Curtorim is about 12 kms from the Margao
Railway Station.
