This Property is an ancestral house located amidst the natural splendour of Siolim, a sleepy village in north Goa known for its swaying palms and green paddy fields. It gets its name from its original owner, Hilario Fernandes, one of the oldest landlords of the village and owner of large mango groves and coconut plantations.The famous variety of mango, Manghilar, originated from the house, Maghilar literally translated means mango from the house of Hilario. Hilario is also known for having the first tennis court in Goa. Hilario dates back 100 years and four generations and remains with the Fernandes family to this date.
One of the great great grandsons of Hilario Fernandes has made it into a heritage resort, staying true to the simplicity and authenticity of the Portuguese colonial era. Hilario has well-appointed rooms.
Each room has a unique blend of antique furniture and modern amenities in complete harmony with the historic architecture. The common guest area includes two spacious drawing rooms and an attached taverna. A multi cuisine restaurant offers traditional Goan, Portuguese, Continental and Indian dishes.
