By the way, just to let u know that the sleeper coach (Pune to Goa) was a "reasonable" means of travel...not bad at all, stop overs for toilets every 2 hours and we reached Panji on the next morning 7:30am.

It is a welcome sign that India is giving out information about the country that is honest and reliable. I am an expatriate Indian who has been out of India for about forty years and so reading about so much change in India along with unruly behaviour and pollution makes bitter sweet reading and makes me wonder as to when the public scene in India will change for the better.

It would be hard to believe but i find driving in india is far much more fun than driving on the dull and boring super highways of the united states. indian highways are "alive": full of life and variety. contrary to common belief the traffic on indian highways is far much more disciplined and courteous than the city traffic. also there are many more things to do while driving on indian highways than there are on american highways (which are often regarded as some of the worlds best highways). one can really experience diverse and unique aspects of true indian culture on the indian road whereas here they have the same MacDonalds and the same BurgerKings surrounding the highways all over the country.

Recently on my north trip I travelled two routes by Silverline buses of Rajsthan Tourism ie. Agra-Delhi (A/C Coach) and Jaislmer-Jodhpur (Non A/C Coach). The journey was comfortable, the buses were guite good and the journey was comfortable.
