The
Anaerangal Camp is located on a mountain side overlooking the famed
Anaerangal Lake and in close proximity to the Papathy shola (‘The
Butterfly Forest’) known for mass migration of butterflies in October
and November. The camp has 6 luxury cottage tents – all furnished with
large cots with comfortable mattresses, 4 large windows and en suite
bathroom.The
Camp has its own kitchen and will provide you with delicious ethnic food
and a barbequed dinner on order. The large Gazebo with its inbuilt fire
place for camp fires and comfortable camp chairs is the favourite
meeting place to swap stories or spend a quiet day reading or just
relaxing.
You have range of activities which include treks, plantation walks into
the nearby cardamom estate or walk through the vast tea gardens. The
high point will always be the sunset trek to ‘Phantom’s Head’ peak to
see the spectacular sunsets over the Sahyadri mountains.
Like in Hornbill Camp, we provide you
stay in tent houses. We have total 6 deluxe tents (Single fly living
tent) with attached bathroom. There will be comfortable beds; en-suite
attached European style closet, shower and hot running water. Power is
available for lights and fans as well as charging facilities for laptops
and mobiles.
Gazebo at Anaerangal Camp has an
inbuilt fire place. At night you could sit around the fire and enjoy
your Dinner in the chilling climate of Munnar.

Everyone could enjoy a
soft trek to the Anaerangal Lake and if lucky, you could spot some wild
elephants. In addition this place is good for bird watching too.
Birding
Other birding locations near the camp are Chinnacanal,
Kannimala, etc. Birds like Grey Breasted Laughing thrush, Nilgiri Fly
Cather, Nilgiri wood pigeon, Nilgiri Laughing thrush, grey headed canary
fly catcher, Eurasian Black bird, paddy field pippet, Common rose fingh,
Yellow Throated Bulbul, Indian Robin, Sirkeer Malkoha, Short Toed Snake
Eagle, Blue faced Malkoha,the Black eagle, Asian paradise flycatcher can
be spotted here.
Meeshapulimala trek
The camps is very close to Meeshapulimala, the highly
adventures destination for trekking. It is soft to hard trekking. You
need not to be in a super shape to do this. But you need to put your
effort. Trek through the world’s highest tea plantation, grassland,
rhododendron trees, and natural streams. Also trek to the near tribal
colony.
Cuisine
We offer you the ethnical south Indian food at our place. We Serve only
Buffet. Both Veg and Non- Veg food is available here. You could enjoy a
barbeque dinner at our camp.
Seasons
The best drive is from OCT – MAR. JUN - JUL is the rainy
season.
