Welcome to The Bohemian Masala, a unique village with 12 individual handmade mud cottages surrounded by spacious ambience restaurant/cafe lounge garden with wireless broadband, a hidden oasis based on one and half acre of green lush private land in Varkala. We are located on the north cliff very close to the beaches and shops. Great passion, effort, energy and funds are being invested into this eco

 friendly luxurious place which opened in December 2008. Our aim is to create a peaceful organic environment that is rich with sounds, silence, structures and sensation only nature can provide. We take immense pride in creating a genuine experience for our guest.

Eco conscious; we encourage our guest to participate by not changing bed linen and towels unnecessarily, wasting valuable water and electricity in your cottage. Use a permanent shopping bag, refill water bottles and avoid buying items which create useless waste that cannot be recycled. It’s that simple to act green!

Room service is available for breakfast, snacks and drinks, restaurant charges will be added to your room bill.

When ever possible our foods and juices will be prepared with organic vegetables, herbs and fruits growing in our garden along with organic eggs and chickens. We offer fresh and authentic seafood cuisine in the evening prepared on wood fire. If you are on special diet, allergy prone than please advise us.

All the 12 individual cottages have private verandas facing the growing garden of peace and birds. Are non air conditioned, but designed with cooling mud, healing herbs, natural materials, created according to ancient Vaastu principles.

Cottages come with bath towels, beach towels, toiletries and lounge robes for your pleasure. Including set breakfast; your choice of eggs, brown bread toast with butter/jam and tea or coffee.

20Ltr mineral water container can be set up in your cottage upon request, a good way to avoid plastic bottles.

Hot water is not available in the cottages, but we have a lovely tropical non attached solar power hot shower conveniently close by for our guest.

The space around your cottage is a beautiful garden restaurant with lazy hammock chill zone, garden café, lounge beds and communal area with magazines, books and global sounds, we kindly ask our guest to donate magazines our collection. Our village is a suitable safe space for infants, children and parents.
