Villa Jacaranda is set in a tranquil and green part of Varkala called South Cliff. It is a newly-built house, modern in concept with some traditional touches. There are four large and comfortable rooms for our guests to choose from. At ground level is the garden with a lily pond and fragrant subtropical plants. The beach is a five minute walk away - as is the ancient Hindu temple of Janardhana, which is open to non-Hindus. There are several interesting shops and restaurants around North Cliff. As Varkala is a small town, everything is within walking distance

There are four rooms with ensuite bathrooms and veranda spaces and views of the Arabian Sea. Each room has its own character provided by an eclectic use of furniture that we have collected over the years (and continue to collect - some habits never do die).

Breakfast is served on individual verandas in the mornings; tea, coffee and fresh fruit-juice during the day. Come evening, fragrant jasmine garlands and candles on your veranda make the simple act of watching light turn to dark a sensual pleasure. We ensure that all the produce in our kitchen is of the highest quality, clean and fresh, and that food is well presented with flowers, good china and table linen.

Accommodation - Room One: garden view, ground floor, with
private veranda and ensuite bathroom;

Room Two: first floor, sea view, with private
veranda and ensuite bathroom;

Room Three: first floor, no sea view, with
common veranda and ensuite bathroom;

Room Four: Terrace Room, top floor, sea view,
exclusive use of large terrace with rooftop garden, ensuite bathroom.

Room tariff includes breakfast but does not include 15% tax, airport transfer.

All our rooms have ceiling fans only (no
air-conditioning.

Facilities -

We have Internet Connectivity in each room. Please bring a laptop or hire one here during your stay.

Ayurvedic massage, excellent for rejuvenating a tired body, is offered by experienced practitioners. Approximately Rs500/$10 for an hour.

Our interesting cotton "beach towels" – (ideal for the kitchen) are for sale (new ones, of course).

You can have reasonably priced clothes tailored locally – bring a garment along that you would like copied. Bring the fabric, or better still, choose some from an array of fabric shops in the town centre.

Prescription glasses – they do an excellent job at the local opticians.

Steel and brass utensils – easily available, prove very popular as gifts.
