The Front view of the Resort is covered by
the natural forest atmosphere. The rear view of the resort is totaly
carpeted by green fields. You can also enjoy the natural streme flowing
at walking distence from resort.
The area arond the resort is itself a bird seeing site where you can
find the birds which are mentioned above. Machan is provided by the
resort to see birds easily and nearly.
Geographic Location and Habitat:
Kanha National Park (Which is now officially known as Kanha Tiger
Reserve) is located in the Maikal range, the eastern sector of the
Satpura Hills of the Central Indian Highlands. The exact geographical
coordinates of Kanha are as follows. Latitude : 2207' to 22027'
N; longitude : 80026' to 8103' E'.
Flora and Fauna:
There is abundance of wild
animals in park like Tiger, Leopard, Bison-Indian Gour, Spotted Deer,
World famous Barasingha, Sambar, Black Buck, Sloth Beer, Blackface
Langoor, Jungle Cat, Wild Dog, Jackol, Barking Deer, Wild Bore, Hyena,
Wolf, etc.
The fauna are represented by Grey &
Malbar Hornbill, Indian National bird Peacock, White breasted Pied
Kingfisher, Golden backed Wood Packer, Racket Tail Drongo, Indian
Roller, White necked Stork, Black Winged Kite, Crested Serpent Eagle,
Hoopoe, Small Green Bee-eater, Brain fever, Large Green Barbet, Tree
pie, Red Munia, etc.

Sal, Saja, Sarai, Bamboo, Bija, Imli, Mahua, Mango, Pallas, Peepal,
Teak, Kosum, Jamun.etc.
Climate:
Kanha enjoys an average annual rainfall of approximately 1600-mm. There
are three seasons : cool and dry (November-February), warm to hot
(March-June), and rains (July-October). Temperature ranging from a low
of -20C at night to a high of 320C during the day.

Kanha National Park
(The Tiger Reserve) is the biggest park in Asia, 940 Sq. kms. of core
zone & 1045 sq. kms of buffer zone. The Green Valley Resort is
located in the buffer zone near Banjar river of the forest area.
Inspired by the attached room of the natural building, the Resort has a
total of 6 rooms, built in garden restaurant. The rooms are arranged in
cluster of two or four to accommodate guests traveling in larger or
smaller groups. The Green Valley Resort has also 8 tents (2,4, &
8 persons capacity) in separate camp site.
The rooms offer an
atmosphere of comfort and calm and are tastefully decorated. Each room
has a private adjoining garden overlooking the forest where one can
enjoy a quiet jungle mornings & evening. The asbestos sheet roof is best
suited for keeping the room temperatures low. Large windows provide
ample natural light in every suite and an unobstructed view of the
forest around. Special care has been lavished in making the bathrooms
the stuff of dreams. This ensures 24 hour hot and cold running water as
well as operating other essential equipment.
A big sacred Banyan
tree that have been worshipped by the tribal for generations, to retain
the sanctity of this tree, we have built wooden benches around the tree
and guests can spend a few meditative moments here. In the main dining
room guests can enjoy delectable cuisine including village poultry. The
farm fresh vegetables are grown in the nearby villages. The kitchen is
fitted with modern equipment. A 'Dhaba' created an ideal setting for
guests to enjoy the spectacular view of the surrounding forest while
having a drink. Our library offers you a variety of reference books and
reading materials. And in case of emergencies, temporary medical aid &
modern medical facilities are available at the nearby towns of Bahmni &
Mandla. At the Green Valley Resort we try and make your stay as
comfortable and unforgettable as possible. While with us guests can
enjoy a variety of activities from nature walks along the nearby Banjar
river, picnic, visits to the local markets and villages.
The abundance of bird
life around the resort makes it a bird watchers paradise too. A typical
day at the Green Valley Resort starts at 5.30 a.m. with a cup of
tea and biscuits. Our person will escort you in vehicle to the Kisli
gate, which is one of the two entrances to the Kanha National Park. You
can enjoy the beauty of the jungle morning while driving through the
Park on a soft well laid out maze of roads, all the while watching for
Chital deer or Languor crossing your path. Some times tiger also. Packed
breakfast is served inside the Park. Towards mid morning, you are taken
Tiger tracking on elephant back. The Elephants amble through the tall
elephant grass to the exact spot where the Tigers lurk.
We encourage you to
enjoy this rare experience, as this is the best way to observe the
Tigers in their full glory. Lunch is at the Resort after which you can
spend your time at leisure--a short rest, a walk around the Resort or
just a quiet afternoon at our library. We take you to the Park at around
3 p.m. and once again go Tiger tracking until dusk. You return to the
Resort by 6.30 p.m. and can spend time with our naturalist who is
available to answer your questions or a wildlife film show on wide
projector at Khatia orientation center or wildlife films on television
at our Resort.
The next day visit to
the park may be planned with the naturalist who will welcome your
suggestions. After dinner, a bonfire provides time for you to relax,
swap stories and if you so want, we can ask the Begga villagers to dance
for you. The Green Valley Resort offers its guests a unique and
