Location :

Kanha Tiger Reserve is located in the southern part of the Central Indian State of Madhya Pradesh. Kanha lies in the Maikal Range of the Central Indian Highlands at a latitude of 22o7’ to 22o27’N and 80o26’ to 81o3’E. It lies 160 kms south of Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh and 270 kms northeast from the town of Nagpur in Maharashtra. The altitude range in 450 mts to 950 mts (m.s.l.). Summer temperature ranges from 11° C to 43° C while in winter it is from -2° C to 29° C. The annual average rainfall is 1600mm.It has links to other tiger reserves in Madhya Pradesh and falls on a circuit of Khajuraho, Panna, Bandhavgarh, Jabalpur, Kanha, Pench and Nagpur.

How to Get There

By Train : Railheads at Jabalpur, Nagpur, Gondia, Raipur and Bilaspur can be used to get to Kanha.

By Air : Nagpur, Raipur and Jabalpur all have airports which have connections to major cities in India. In addition, there is a small airport in Baihar, a mere 5` kms from Singinawa that can be used for Chartered Flights and Private Aircrafts.
