Asavali Dam - The
Asavli Dam is on a green lake surrounded by range of mountains on one
side and a small village on the other. It is a beautiful picnic spot
near the dam. Mountains with Bahrot caves can also be seen near the
dam. The best time to visit is the monsoon season. It is great to
splash through the rain to the Asavli dam. You can enjoy peace and

Bahrot Caves -
Bahrot
Mountain is 1500 feet high. It is located 20 km south
of Sanjaan. The brave Zarathostis ancestors hid themselves from the
Muslim invaders among these mountains. They were in hiding for 13 long
years. This incident took place in the year 1351 AD. The ‘Iranshah
Fire’ was also taken by the Zarathosti to Bahrot.
Even today the Holy Fire is burning, and it is given the most eminent
grade of devoted fire in the world.

Beach is a very safe beach - the water does not rise
above the waist for half a kilometers. The entire stretch of the beach
from Dhanu to Bordi is beautiful. It has a backdrop of orchards of
different fruits The specialty of the beach is that it is natural and
calm. Even though the beach is connected with outside town, it is
unspoiled and refreshing. The beach has no artificial make up.

Kalpataru Botanical
Garden - The Kalpataru Botanical Gardens is in Umergoan. It is
just 10 km away from Bordi. The famous Vrindavan studios are in
Umergoan. Most of the TV epic of Ramayana was shot in this garden.
Kalpataru is a marine village. The botanical gardens located here is
famous for the trees which surround the park. The trees which are
preserved in the park, gives the park a lush green outlook. Monsoon is
the best season to visit the garden as the trees are in full bloom.
Tourists can also visit the Santoshi Mata Mandir and Mahalakshmi
temple, which is located near Bordi.

Gholvad is the nearest railway station for Bordi. It is next to
Dahanu Road. You
could take a train from Mumbai Central or even from Borivali. From
Gholvad it is only 2 km. You could hire an auto rickshaw from here to
reach Bordi.

Bordi is about 160 km from the Bandra Flyover in Mumbai; follow the
National Highway 8 from Bandra that will take you to Bordi.
