We at Hornbill Deluxe Hill Resort, Amba endeavor to offer a different kind of family holiday. We want to bring you to beautiful nature to refresh and rejuvenate you.

We offer you outdoor activities like Day as well as Night jungle safari sitting on top of the vehicles. We love to take you for treks and walks in jungles. There is also rock climbing and tree climbing for children. We take you for swim if you desire, in natural waters of small dam.

We have eleven non A.C. deluxe rooms and one dormitory hall with clean toilets having European WC, running hot water and large verandah’s for each room. To have better interaction among the members of family or group, as a rule we have no TV’s in the rooms.

We specialize in good variety non-commercial homely food. We have separate vegetarian and non-vegetarian kitchens. Perhaps we are the only resort where menu for each meal is decided by all guests together from the many available options.

We also offer you vegetarian and non vegetarian Barbeque. Enjoy as you sit around the campfire while your food gets roasted. Experience sitting in the jungle and enjoying a delicious lunch. 

After monsoon we give you one Vanbhojan in the jungle with hammocks tied to trees for you to relax and swing on.

Locally grown, practically organic vegetables are available round the year at Malkapur market which is 16 kms away. Normally, vegetables are available as per season hence we arrange other vegetables from Kolhapur which is 65 kms away.

Local mutton and poultry quality is much better than that in the metros. We also get fresh fish from Ratnagiri, three times a week.

We get fresh and full fat buffalo milk and good cow milk. 

Apart from great holidays at Hornbill, we also arrange tours.

ACCOMMODATIONS

Amba village is a beautiful and relatively undiscovered hill station, situated on top of the Ghats between Kolhapur and Ratnagiri in Maharashtra on national highway NH204.

It is situated almost at the center of the Chandoli National Reserved forests of about 317 sq. kilometers hence, surrounded by evergreen tropical forests.

The climate here is cool and dry throughout the year  Except, for last ten days prior to rains, evening temperatures are below 18 degrees centigrade. So forget AC, even fans are not needed throughout the year, save for 2 hours in the summer afternoons.

The water comes from a bore well and quality of water is light and excellent. During monsoons, up to September 15th, rains normally range from very heavy to heavy. Jungles are full of waterfalls and clouds-mist during monsoons.

Here is a lovely place where one can escape the city life and relax in a pollution - free, calm environment amidst nature.
