The Byke - Matheran Outer View The byke is Matheran's first human dwelling. Built in 1854 by the discoverer of Matheran, Hugh Malet, the then Collector of Thane. The Byke bunglow still stand majestically in all its pristine glory personifying heritages unparalleled. In the surrounding 7 acres is built THE BYKE-A Hotel Retreat.
