Surrounded by only the vast expanse of
sky and sea, the resort’s 50 island and aqua villas, some with
private pool, reflect the unique Maldivian sense of space. Here, no
boundaries exist between you and the ocean. Panoramic views stretch
to infinity.
The resort is about the ultimate
Maldivian experience of turquoise and azure waters and fine white
beaches, complemented by tranquil settings. Succumb to the healing
sensation of holistic wellness at Alila Villas Hadahaa, where every
experience is centred on bringing your mind, body and soul towards a
new equilibrium.
The essence of the Maldives flows
into the culinary and wellness experiences too. Savour authentic
local cuisine and pamper yourself at the spa retreat, an oasis of
indulgence and rejuvenation.
Great care has been taken in the
construction of Alila Villas Hadahaa to preserve the natural
vegetation in order to maintain the ambience of the island and
minimise the environmental footprint of the resort. Environmental
awareness and protection are key considerations in all our guest
experiences. Alila Villas Hadahaa is the first resort in the
Maldives to adhere to the standards for Green Globe certification in
the construction stage and resort operations.
As natural as the pristine atolls
they adorn, these unspoilt living spaces lift the concept of
destination experiences to new heights. Leading the design team for
Alila Villas Hadahaa is Chan Soo Khian, founder and principal
architect of Singapore-based SCDA Architects. SCDA was named as one
of the Design Vanguards of 2003 by the very prestigious
Architectural Record, a monthly publication by the American
Institute of Architects. The firm also received the prestigious
Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) Worldwide Award for one
of its projects in Singapore and recently, the inaugural SIA
(Singapore Institute of Architects)-Getz Architecture Prize for
Emergent Architecture in Asia. In 2006, Chan Soo Khian was named
Designer of the Year in the Singapore President’s Design Award.
Soo Khian's signature style is evident here, in the way he engages
nature. His is an architectural philosophy that seeks to bring out
the best of a locale and its essence. Indeed, Alila Villas Hadahaa
is gentle on the earth. The design and construction blueprints were
guided by environmental impact studies prior to implementation. In
complementing the spirit of environmental stewardship, Soo Khian is
careful to ensure that his design promotes rainwater harvesting and
minimises disruption to corals around the island. The concept
preserves and reinforces the existing foliage of the island. Waste
treatment plants ensure that pollution to the island is minimised.
Location
Alila Villas Hadahaa is set on a
tropical island in the North Huvadhoo Atoll, about 400 km to the
south from Male international airport.
The islands here feature diverse landscapes covered by lush
vegetation such as palm, coconut and banyan trees and tropical
flowers, and fringed by pristine sandy beaches. The diving is
unbeatable with long stretches of unspoilt coral reefs and a huge
abundance of marine life unequalled by other visited locations in
the Maldives. From lazing on an empty beach to breathtaking ocean
adventures, Alila Villas Hadahaa will offer the absolute best

Accommodation
Surrounded by only the vast expanse
of sky and sea, the resort’s 50 island and aqua villas, some with
private pool, reflect the unique Maldivian sense of space. Here, no
boundaries exist between you and the ocean where panoramic views
stretch to infinity. The unique architecturally designed
accommodation of Alila Villas Hadahaa is a well planned selection of
villas to meet the needs of every guest: 16 Island Villas (100 sqm),
20 Island Villas with Pool (120 sqm) and 14 Aqua Villas (110 sqm).
The Island Villa provides a private island home for guests desiring
true solitude and tranquility. Nestled among the natural vegetation
of the island, they create an intimate setting for relaxation. Each
villa features private deck, bedroom with living area and your own
private garden with outdoor shower and bath. The interiors of the
villa include natural timber and stone to imbue the minimalist
contemporary design with an indigenous touch. Perfect sound from
home entertainment system and TV which can be viewed from your bed
will complete the experience. There is only a short sandy walk from
each deck to the magical blue of the Indian Ocean.
The Island Villa with Pool provides an additional level of lazing
and pampering. Enjoying the privacy provided by the natural
vegetation, guests will step down from their daybed into their own
personal plunge pool adjacent to the outdoor deck.
The Aqua Villa is an ideal retreat from a chaotic world, where
guests enjoy panoramic views of the ocean to the horizon and fall
asleep to the sound of soft waves lapping below their villa. Each
villa features the bedroom with living area, bathroom with oval
shaped bath and a full size window opening to a view of the ocean,
private deck with daybed, sun lounges and access to the coral-filled
waters.
