White Sands Resort and Spa provides 139 rooms with various styles of accommodation designed to suit all guests and all budgets. Even the most discerning traveller will be captivated by the picturesque accommodation provided by the Over Water Bungalows and Suites in our Water Village. Connected to the main island by a wooden jetty, these timber rooms are reminiscent of traditional Maldivian houseboats on stilts and are beautifully appointed, providing private decks with direct access into the crystal clear lagoon. The Island Village houses a selection of thatched Guest Rooms and Beach Cottages nestled amongst the tropical gardens. Located either directly on, or in the close proximity to the beach, all accommodation is single storey and compliments the local environment.

With three Restaurants and weekly special dinner events, White Sands Resort and Spa offers a large variety of dining options. Guests at the Resort can enjoy sumptuous breakfast, lunch and dinner buffets in our Vilu Mathi and Kaana Kotari Restaurants, as well as an extensive choice of snacks in our Vilu Bar and Café or Sunset Restaurant and Lounge. The a la carte dining experience includes Asian cuisine, International cuisine, fresh Ocean seafood and grilled entrees.

  A slightly more refined and relaxed dining experience where guests can enjoy meals sitting out over the water with beautiful panoramic views of the clear lagoon below. Apart from the exciting buffet breakfasts, lunches and dinners we also have an attractive a la carte menu. Guests staying on the island can also reserve a table at a small supplement.

  A slightly more casual buffet Restaurant set amongst the gardens of the Island Village with varying themes such as sizzling BBQ’s Grills and Maldivian Nights.

  Overlooking the beach and Indian Ocean, this a la carte restaurant comes to life at night with the aroma of exotic seafood, Asian cuisine and other specialties prepared by the Resort’s International Chefs. WATER ACTIVITIES
Maximizing the surrounding lagoon, Dolphin Water Sports provides equipment and tuition for you to enjoy windsurfing, catamaran sailing, jet skiing, canoeing, water skiing, pedal boats, fun tubes and banana rides. White Sands Resort and Spa is well known for providing one of the most comprehensive water-sports centres in the Maldives ensuring that you will have every opportunity to be at one with the ocean.

Many people come to the Maldives for snorkelling and at White Sands Resort and Spa we organise complimentary daily snorkelling trips to the house reef, as well as lengthier snorkel safaris. It is not unusual to meet a Whale Shark or a Manta Ray on one of these trips. Of course there are a number of idyllic locations around the island to simply kick off your shoes, relax and do very little.

DIVING
The Maldives has long been regarded as home to some of the most spectacular diving the world has to offer, and the White Sands Resort and Spa provides access to many of the best sites in the region.

Operated by renowned Swiss dive specialists, Euro Divers, our PADI 5 star dive centre provides a highly skilled, multi-lingual team of professionals who will ensure your dive experience is of the highest calibre.

If you never dived before there is no better location in which to experience your first dive or even undergo your open water certification. Our dive centre can cater for everybody from snorkelling and first time divers up to the most experienced underwater explorers. Locations will be selected based on the experience of the diver and dive holiday packages can be specifically designed to suit all of your requirements.

Nitrox and Rebreather diving are available.

LAND ACTIVITIES
A myriad of activities and entertainment options are available including local Boduberu drumming and dance, live bands, crab racing and beautiful slideshows of the underwater world. Programs change regularly thus ensuring that you do not run out of new things to experience during your stay with us.

Table tennis, badminton, volleyball, billiards and beach football are some of the activities that are available for the more sporty of our guests. We operate regularly full and half day excursions to the local cultural centre and nearby deserted and local islands. You are also sure to catch a fish or two on one of our night fishing trips or big game fishing. You will also be able to have your catch specially prepared by our talented Chefs and brought to your table.
