All
trekkers require a trekking visa. All treks offered are for the
moderately fit and healthy traveller. You can trek at your own
speed. You are accompanied by experienced Sherpas who not only act
as guides but also cook, can carry your luggage if necessary and
assist in any way possible. Trekking in the Everest region is
strenuous due to the high altitude. The Treks shown below are not
strenuous and can be accomplished without undue stress.
WHEN TO GO TREKKING IN NEPAL
Trekking in Nepal can be
undertaken at any time of the year. There are four seasons and
each one has its distinct attractions to offer.
September/November
This time of the year offers
excellent weather and wonderful mountain views.
December/February
Occasional snowfall, only at
higher elevations. Ideal time for trekking at lower elevations
generally below 3000 metres.
March/May
This is the season for wild
flowers. It is mildly warm at the lower elevations and moderate
over 4000 metres where the mountain views are excellent.
June/August
Wet and warm, this is a good time
in the higher valleys and meadows as the flowers and lush
vegetation are in full bloom.
For those travellers who are
looking for a different and even less strenuous trekking
experience in the Himalayas, why not consider our Gurung Lodge
Trek which allows you to take daily treks while returning to the
comforts of a lodge for overnight accommodation and meals. This
trek experience is available from Pokhara.

Transfer by private vehicle to your trek starting point.
The drive takes one hour and fifteen minutes. You will stop along
the way to Photograph the breathtaking Panoramas of the Annapurnas.
Upon arrival at the village of Lumle situated at an altitude of
1610 m., you begin your one and a half-hour walk to Gurung
Village. After about 45 minutes, arrive at the village of

you through a forested area along a well worn trail for a further
45 minutes to the Gurung Lodge which is situated at an altitude of
1450 m. After lunch at the lodge, you will be escorted to the
local village where you will be able to explore more picturesque
villages. There will be a talk at a local house, which is owned

breakfast at the lodge, you will have an optional morning walk
through the surrounding forests for 1 1/2 hours to a viewpoint
only known to a few. This bears the name of Gurung Hill. From
here, there are magnificent views of the entire Annapurna range
together with views of the Dhaulagiri and Lamjung Mountains. Tea
and biscuits will be served from this viewpoint. Return to the
lodge via a different route.
Lunch will be at the lodge. This
will be followed by a short walk to the local school where the
headmaster will talk about the local education system. There will
be then a visit to the lodge by the Children who will perform some
of the
dances and songs particular to the region. Should guests have any
pens or wish to make a donation of US$ 3.00 per person, either
will go directly to the school and will greatly assist with
improving the education of the children. Funds are generally
collected and are used to improve the classrooms and facilities.
