From Guwahati Airport one can fly by Helicopter to Shillong or reach Shillong by road.  Meghalaya Helicopter Service operates short hop Helicopter flights which perhaps are one of the cheapest anywhere in the world, because the tickets are highly subsidized by Meghalaya State Government.

By Railway

The nearest railhead is at Guwahati, which is 170 kms from the Resort.  Very next to the Guwahati  Railway Station on the Paltan Bazar side you have the State Transport Bus Station from where you can catch Assam State and Meghalaya State Transport buses to Shillong.  In the vicinity, there are many private luxury coach operators operating bus services to Shillong. The Tourist Taxi Stand for Tourist Taxis going to Shillong,  Share Taxis and Maxi Taxis (Sumos) also operate from around here.

The Share Taxis that take in 5 persons charge currently Rs.150/= per person and Sumo Maxi Cabs that take in 10 passengers charge Rs.90/= to Rs.100/= per person to Shillong.

From Shillong one can hire Tourist Taxies from the Taxi Stand at Police Bazar, Shillong.  If you are eager to experience the rustic rural life of Meghalaya, you can catch our village bus at Bara Bazar, SOHRA BUS STAND at Shillong.  (Cherrapunjee is locally known as 'SOHRA'.)  There are three buses plying between SHILLONG and LAITKYNSEW - where the Resort is located.  One bus leaves Sohra Bus Stand at Bara Bazar, Shillong by 11:00 a.m.  It reaches LAITKYNSEW by 1:30 p.m. The same bus starts back to Shillong from the village by 2:00 p.m. The other two buses leave Shillong by 1:00 p.m.  They reach Laitkynsew after 4:00 p.m. These buses do not ply on Sundays.  It is very convenient to avail the 11:00 a.m. bus from Shillong.  It is also very convenient to return to Shillong on the day of departure.  Backpackers, please take note of this service.

One can also catch the Shuttle Sumos to Sohra from near Sohra Bus Station at Bara Bazaar near Mot Phran.  Presently they charge Rs.40/= per person to Cherrapunjee Market and from there take a taxi to the Resort for just Rs.200/= to Rs.250/=.  Alternately, you can hire one of the Shuttle Sumos to Sohra for Rs.700/= to Rs.750/= for a direct non-stop drop to Cherrapunjee Holiday Resort.  These Shuttle Sumo drivers are conscious of time, because they have to line up for their next trip to maximise their daily trips.  That is why you are getting them at that rate.
