Overlooking a panoramic view of the NE-Sikkim-Himalayas,
The Bamboo Resort is set on 3 acres of paddy field in the picturesque
farmer’s village Sajong. Only 25 min. from Sikkim’s capital Gangtok the
resort is situated in the midst of nature yet only a stone throw away
from the bustling capital. From the Airport Bagdogra in Westbengal The
Bamboo Resort can be reached by jeep in four hours or by helicopter and
jeep in less than one hour.
Accommodation
All of the
10 rooms have attached bathrooms and in winter are quipped with room
heaters and hot water bags. Each room is decorated individually with
different color themes according to Feng Shui, the ancient Chinese
science that prescribes ways of living in a state of harmony and balance
with the environment.
Most rooms
have a balcony overlooking paddy fields, Gangtok across the valley and
the snow-capped mountains behind it that mark the border to Tibet.
Dining The Bamboo
Resort Restaurant serves Sikkimese as well as Indian and Continental
cuisines. Fern, wild yams, stinging nettle, fermented mustard leaves or
even orchids are a selection of the exotic fresh ingredients used in
Sikkimese cuisine.
The
restaurant has its own Pizza-oven serving original Italian Pizza and
offers daily menus prepared with fresh, seasonal, locally and
organically grown vegetables.
The
restaurant is furnished traditionally Sikkimese combined with western
sitting-arrangements crafted of cane. Come to savor local Sikkimese
country cuisine or go in for a hearty Italian Pizza!
