THE MAJESTIC ADVANTAGE
Accessible directly from the Guwahati-Shillong highway via Mawlai, The
Majestic Hotel offers its guests the distinct advantage of avoiding
traffic snarls; significantly reducing driving time better spent on work
or serious holiday-making!
Each of our 10 rooms and 4 suites is tastefully appointed with a
separate theme for every independent unit. This keeps it fresh and fun
for any guest who returns to us. Each of our four floors too is done up
differently to create a unique ambience.
Our stairways and corridors are lined with sepia tinted photographs of
vintage Shillong to create an aura of nostalgia.
Within our premises there are those small frills thrown in so that you
have all you need within easy reach so that you don't have to go to too
much effort be it a Baskin Robbins double sundae or ready cash from an
ATM in the basement.
A stone's throw away is the world renowned 18-hole Shillong Golf Course
modelled on the lines of St Andrews, Scotland, giving it its sobriquet
of 'Gleneagle of the East.' It is said to be among the most challenging
courses
anywhere in the world and has played host to a number of PGA
tournaments.
Close by is the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, the arena for most of the
important sporting galas and the occasional rock concert or cultural
extravaganza. International acts such as The Scorpions & MLTR have
performed before packed-to-the-rafters audiences here!
Should you anticipate the need for a guide-cum-interpreter, a chauffeur,
a secretary, a security guard, a baby sitter, a golf coach or caddy, do
let us know when you are booking; we will try and make necessary
arrangements. Do keep in mind, however, that since these services have
to be outsourced they cannot always be guaranteed.
Our 2,200 sq ft - 'Tyngkai Hall' - with DJ booth, lighting, sound and
projection system is ideal for banquets, parties, seminars or get
togethers and can accommodate buffets for about 200 persons. Our banquet
staff will be happy to discuss personalized decor with you.

While we do go to great lengths to
ensure our guests are comfortable, we hold a deep commitment for
contributing to the community and to the growth of the local economy. In
our small way, we are attempting to provide avenues of earning for local
educated youth in search of gainful employment. We encourage local youth
to serve with us as guides, interpreters, secretaries, valets and
baby-sitters so as to provide our guests with value added services,
while at the same time contributing to the earnings of those providing
these services.
In light of the above, therefore, our
guests would appreciate that some of these services are subject to
availability. We urge you to indicate your requirements, if you should
need any of these services, at the time of making your bookings so that
we can make the necessary arrangements.
