Location & Access

The Oberoi Amarvilas is located in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, one of the largest states in India. The resort is located at a distance of 600 meters from the Taj Mahal and approximately 15 minutes from the city centre. The hotel has been designed to give guests breathtaking views of the Taj Mahal from each of its 102 guest rooms and suites.

  • By Air - Agra's Kheria Airport is located 13kms from The Oberoi Amarvilas and is approximately a 25 minutes drive. The Oberoi Air Charter may also be arranged for this journey. It takes approximately forty-five minutes to fly from New Delhi to Kheria airport.

  • By Rail - The main railway station at Agra is the Agra Cantonment station. The journey takes approximately two hours from New Delhi by Shatabdi Express and, three hours by Taj Express. These trains halt at Agra Cantonment railway station, which is 10kms from The Oberoi Amarvilas. The drive to the hotel takes approximately 20 minutes in the hotel's chauffeur driven cars.

  • By Road - The Delhi-Agra highway (National Highway 2) via Mathura joins New Delhi and Agra and is the best route for those wanting to drive from New Delhi to Agra. The drive of 190kms takes approximately four hours. There are an adequate number of refueling stations and restaurants on the way.

The suite also features a private pantry and a separate guest washroom adjoining the living room.

  • Kohinoor Suite - The Kohinoor suite is located in the centre of the 5th floor which is the highest floor of the resort. This magnificent suite has an entrance foyer, a large living room, a dining room, a study and a spacious bedroom with an attached bathroom, each of which has breathtaking views of the Taj Mahal.

    The spacious white marble and granite bathroom is equipped with shaving mirrors, twin vanity counters with deluxe toiletries and a water closet with bidet. The bathroom of the Kohinoor Suite offers one of the most amazing views of the monument. The suite also has a pantry and an interconnecting twin-bedded room (for families).

Full Moon at Taj: 

1 - The Supreme Court has now permitted visit to Tajmahal by moonlight.

2 - The Tajmahal by moonlight shall be open on Full moon day and 2 days before and 2 days after the full moon.

3 - On every Friday, it shall remain closed. (even for moonlight visit it shall remain closed on Friday).

Full Moon Dates : *The Tajmahal by moonlight shall be open on Full moon day and two days before and two days after the full moon, except Friday.
Even for moonlight visit it shall remain closed on Friday. During month of August 2011 Taj Mahal shall not open due to Ramzan.
* The tickets are issued ONLY ONE DAY in advance from ASI, Agra office. There is NO same day issue of tickets.
The timings for ticket purchase are 1100 hours to 1700 hours one day before.
