Interest :
Manu Temple is the only temple of Manu Maharaj in the world. It
is said to mark the spot where he first set foot on earth from his
celestial boat, after the world destroying flood. Manali takes its name
from Manu - alya or place of Manu.
Hadimba Temple - Harimba Devi was the Patron Goddess of the old
Kings of Kullu. She was a Rakshasi, the wife of Bhim the Pandava, who
became a Devi by her Tapasya. The temple is 600 years old and is in the
middle of a Cedar Forest.
Vashisht Hot Spring - clinging to the mountains above the Beas,
is the old village of Vashisht, with hot sulfur springs and temples.
Solang Valley is situated 13 kilometers from Manali, en route to
Rohtang Pass. It is considered one of the best skiing slopes in the
world.
Rahala Falls is a 50 meter fall, 27 km from Manali. It is set in
beautiful environs, with a picnic spot nearby, surrounded by mountains.
Rohtang Pass 51 kilometers from Manali, is at a height of 4934
meters, being one of the highest roads. The crest of the pass offers a
breathtaking view of the Himalayas.
Nagger 18 kilometers from Manali, was the old capital of the
Kullu Kings. It consists of the only castle in Kullu, some very old
temples and the Roerich Museum.
