Day 01 -
On arrival meeting assistance and
transfer to hotel. Overnight at hotel.
Day 02 - Breakfast
at hotel. Morning excursion to Elephanta Caves a major attraction
for it's rock-cut temples built in between 450 & 750 AD. Lunch at
local restaurant. Afternoon free at leisure. Dinner and overnight at
hotel.
Day 03 -
After breakfast at hotel proceed
for Pune carrying packed lunch known as "The Cultural City" enroute
visiting Karla & Bhaja caves & Kanheri caves belonging to the
Buddhist era from 2nd to 9th century AD. Dinner and overnight at
hotel.
Day 04 -
After breakfast proceed for Aurangabad
which has a long artistic and cultural history, contributions made
by different dynasties. Lunch at hotel. After noon visit to Ellora
Caves known for its Rock-Hewn temples & Monasteries. Kailasa temple
is famous as its being carved out of one single rock. Dinner and
overnight at hotel.
Day 05 -
After breakfast excursion to Ajanta
caves dating to the 2nd century BC. It's famous for the buddhist
shrines with exquisite paintings. Lunch at Ajantha restaurant. Early
dinner at hotel. Proceed for Manmad railway station to board train,
Jhelum Express for Bhopal. Overnight on board.
Day 06 -
On arrival breakfast at local
restaurant and proceed for Sanchi known for its Buddhist
structures built by Emperor Ashoka in 3rd century BC. One can see
the Great Stupa, and Toranas. Lunch at MPTDC lodge at Sanchi.
Transfer to railway station to board Shatbadi Express for Agra.
Dinner and overnight at hotel.
Day 07 -
Breakfast at hotel. Morning
sightseeing of the city. Agra once the capital of India, during the
reign of Moghul era is situated on the banks of river Yamuna. It's
famous for it's most magnificent monument - The Taj Mahal. Emperor
Shahjahan built it for his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal. It is
amazingly graceful with the semiprecious stones inlaid into the
intricately marble designed patterns. Agra fort is a fascinating
fort with Masjid, Diwan-i -am(hall for public), Diwan-I-khas(hall of
private audiences) worth seeing. Lunch at hotel. Afternoon free at
leisure. Early dinner and then transfer to Tundla railway station to
board train Vaishali Express for Gonda. Overnight on board.
Day 08 -
On arrival proceed to Sravasti.
Breakfast at hotel. Sravasti was an active center of Buddhism. Lord
Buddha spent 25 rainy seasons and delivered his sermons. Visit to
Sahet and Mahet where Lord Buddha performed his Miracle sitting on a
petalled Lotus multiplying 1000 times. Dinner and overnight at
hotel.
Day 09 -
After breakfast proceed for Lumbini.
Birth place of Lord Buddha. A holy pilgrimage for the Buddhists. The
places of interest- The Maya Devi temple ( Named after Mother of
Lord Buddha is the holy spot where he was born), The Ashokan Pillar,
Pushkarini: The Sacred pool. Lunch at Nirvana hotel. Proceed for
Kushinagar where Lord Buddha breathed his last and was cremated.
Dinner and overnight at hotel.
Day 10 -
Breakfast at hotel. Morning
sightseeing of Mahaparinirvana temple & Rambhar Stupa. Proceed for
with packed lunch for Patna enroute visit to Vaishali the birth
place of Lord Mahavira. Dinner and overnight at hotel.
Day 11 -
After breakfast proceed for Bodhgaya
with packed lunch enroute visit to Rajgir(115 km) where the first
Buddhist Council was held after Lord Buddha attained nirvana and
Nalanda which was a great Buddhist centre. Now only the Great Stupa,
terraces remain. Dinner and overnight at hotel.
Day 12 -
After breakfast sightseeing of
Bodhgaya visit to Mahabodhi temple, Niranjana river & Museum.Proceed
for Varanasi with packed lunch. Dinner and overnight at hotel.
Day 13 -
Early morning boat ride on river
Ganges and watch people taking holy dip & worship the rising Sun.
Visit the various temples of the Hindu god & goddess. Breakfast at
hotel. Morning visit to Sarnath where Lord Buddha gave his first
sermon. The attractions are Dhamekh Stupa built in 500 AD, Ashokan
Pillar & Museum. Lunch at hotel. Afternoon visit to Silk Factory.
Transfer to airport to board flight for Mumbai. Arrival at Mumbai
the Commercial center of India and also called as the economic
powerhouse of India. Dinner and overnight at hotel.
Day 14 -
Breakfast at hotel. Morning visit
places - Gateway of India built for the visit of King George V,
Prince of Wales Museum, Hanging Garden, Silence of Towers built in
1670.Transfer departure to airport for onward destination. |
