Day 01-
On arrival meeting assistance and
transfer to hotel. Overnight at hotel.
Day 02 - After
breakfast visit to the places of "City Of Joy" visit the Victoria
Memorial a blend of European & Mughal architecture, Indian museum
and Botanical Garden. Lunch at hotel. Transfer to railway station to
board Howrah Amritsar mail for Patna. Dinner and overnight on board.
Day 03 -
On arrival transfer to hotel for
breakfast.Enroute visit Nalanda which was a great Buddhist centre.
Now only the Great Stupa, terraces remain. Lunch at hotel. Proceed
for Rajgir where the first Buddhist Council was held after Lord
Buddha attained nirvana. Continue the journey to Bodhgaya. Lord
Buddha attained enlightenment. Dinner and overnight at hotel.
Day 04 -
Breakfast at hotel. Morning visit the
Stupa and the various monasteries, Mahabodhi temple built by Ashoka
the Great in 3rd Century BC One can visit the Sacred Bodhi tree
(descendant of the tree under which Lord Buddha attained
enlightenment). Proceed for Varanasi with packed lunch. The eternal
city is situated on the banks of sacred Ganges. Dinner and overnight
at hotel.
Day 05 -
Early morning boat ride on river
Ganges and watch people taking holy dip & worship the rising Sun.
Visit the various temples of the Hindu god & goddess. After
breakfast visit Sarnath (10 kms) where Lord Buddha gave his first
sermon. The attractions are Dhamekh Stupa built in 500 A.D ,Ashokan
pillar, the Museum etc. Lunch at hotel. Transfer to railway station
to board Marudhar Exp. Dinner and overnight on board.
Day 06 -
Arrive at Agra. After breakfast
morning sightseeing of the city. Agra once the capital of India,
during the reign of Moghul era is situated on the banks of river
Yamuna. It's famous for it's most magnificent monument - The Taj
Mahal. Emperor Shahjahan built it for his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal.
It is amazingly graceful with the semiprecious stones inlaid into
the intricately marble designed patterns. Agra fort is a fascinating
fort with Masjid, Diwan-i -am(hall for public), Diwan-I-khas(hall of
private audiences) worth seeing. Lunch at hotel. Afternoon visit
Fateh-pur- Sikri (53 kms) the ghost city. The moghul empire capital
was once situated over here. The entrance is through the Buland
Darwaza- Gate of Victory. The palaces have unique blend of Hindu &
Muslim architecture. Dinner & overnight at hotel.
Day 07 -
After breakfast proceed for Delhi. On
arrival lunch at local restaurant. Afternoon visit the Capital City
- Delhi which is divided into two parts Old Delhi- the walled city
where one can visit Red Fort (part of the history) & the narrow
lanes of Chandini Chowk a crowded market & New Delhi - Lutyen's
Delhi the architect who planned it for the British-Rastrapati Bhavan,
Parliament, India Gate (Memorial for the martyr's) Qutab Minar
(first Mosque in India) National Museum .Transfer departure to
airport to board flight for onward destination.
