Day 1- Arrive Delhi and
transfer to Hotel.
Day 2 - Proceed on a full day
tour of the capital city. In the tour of the Old city visit Red Fort built by Emperor Shah
Jahan; see Jama Masjid, one of the largest mosque in India, Raj Ghat- the memorial of
Mahatma Gandhi and Shanti Van;
walk along chandni chowk, the silver street of Delhi bustling with activity. In the New
city visit Qutab Minar, the tallest stone tower in India, Humayuns Tomb built in the
Indo Persian style and a predecessor to The Taj Mahal in Agra, India Gate A War
Memorial Arch; Lakshmi Narayan - a Hindu temple. Also drive past the Presidents house,
Parliament house, Government secretariat buildings and Connaught place - the heart of New
Delhi a busy shopping center.
Day 3- To Agra By Shatabadi Express Train. Reaching in 2
hours, Viewing picturesque countryside enroute to Agra. Tour the city visiting the world famous Taj Mahal
built by the Moghul Emperor Shahjehan in 1630 for his queen Mumtaz Mahal to enshrine her
mortal remains. Later you will see Agra
Fort, a blend of architectural styles used during the reign of three emperors,
Itmad-Ud-Daulah and Sikandra- Akbars mausoleum. If time permits in the evening pay
another visit to Taj Mahal and ride a cycle rickshaw to
the monument.
Day 4- To Jaipur by Surface. Leave early for Jaipur- the pink city. Prior to arriving
into Jaipur visit Fatehpur Sikri, an abandoned city that was hardly ever
inhabited on account of shortage of water. Also visit Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary where you
can enjoy a cycle rickshaw to see birds in their natural habitat. Arrive late afternoon in
Jaipur. There are many dinner options available to dine in one of the finest Palace hotels
that Jaipur boasts of .
Day 5- In Jaipur - The day starts with an interesting drive of 11kms in the
outskirts of the city to visit Amber Fort, the ancient capital of the State until 1728.
Have Elephant Ride there. Visit the Temple of Kali, the Hall of Victory or Jai Mahal and Jagmandir. You can have the
unique experience of traveling on elephant back up atop the hill on which the fort is
situated. City tour of Jaipur covers visit to the solar Observatory. Also visit the
Maharajas City Palace, the former royal residence and now a museum containing rare
manuscripts, fine specimens of Rajput and Mughal paintings and weapons. Drive through the
pink-rose residential and business areas, past the Hawa Mahal or Palace of Winds, the
landmark of Jaipur.
Day 6- In Bikaner by Surface. Start early morning by surface and reach afternoon and
guided tour to city. The city is renowned for the best riding camels in the world. During
your guided tour you will visit Camel Breeding Farms; Junagarh Fort, a formidable
structure encircled by a moat and has some beautiful palaces within; Lallgarh Palace now
converted into a hotel; Fort Museum housing memorabilia of
the royal family etc. Visit the local bazaars for souvenir hunting.
Day 7- To Jaisalmer
In the morning leave for Jaisalmer and arrive by afternoon. Relex in the
evening.
Day 8- To Jaisalmer
Morning sightseeing of Jaisalmer. Visit to Sam Dunes in the afternoon
optional.
Day 9 - To
Jodhpur - Drive to Johdpur 5 hour drive arrive and stay overnight.
Visit to the handicrafts and Market if time permits.
Day 10- In Jodhpur-
Jodhpur- Gateway to the Thar desert, known for its striking forts,
stately palaces and gracious buildings. Visit the 5 km long majestic Mehrangarh Fort
situated on a 125 m high hill, one of the most impressive and formidable structures;
Jaswant Thada, a memorial built in pure white marble for the exclusive use of the royal
family, as a crematorium; Umaid Bhawan in rose colored sandstone; Mandore Gardens, once
the old capital of Marwar. Return in the evening or visit Umaid Bhawan Palace for dinner
before winding up for the day.
Day 11- To Udaipur -Drive to city of Lakes, Udaipur situated in the colorful
Rajasthan. Udaipur is described as the City of Sunrise. The city stands in a
valley amid green hills on the banks of the Lake Pichola. Rest of the day enjoy the views
from your hotel. You may take a walking tour on your own through the narrow
lanes and back streets of Udaipur upto the Washing Ghats at the lake Pichola.
Visit one of the fine downtown restaurants for an optional dinner.
Day 12- In Udaipur - Drive around the Fatehsagar Lake, built by Maharana Fateh Singh
in 1754 A.D. Visit the Jagdish Temple, the largest and most venerated temple of Udaipur;
Sahelion-Ki-Bari, consisting of an ornamental pool with delicately carved chhatries
of black and white marble and soft stone. Also visit the Maharanas City Palace, an
imposing edifice of granite and marble. Later in the day enjoy a two hour boat-ride on
Lake Pichola visiting many Ghats (banks) of washing, bathing etc and enjoy excellent view
of the Lake Palace and City Palace.
Day 13- Drop
at Udaipur Airport for flight to Delhi.
