Day 1- Arrive Delhi
and transfer to Hotel.
Day 2 - On a tour of the
capital city. In the tour of the Old city visit Red Fort built by Emperor Shah Jahan; see
Jama Masjid, one of the largest mosque in India, Raj Ghat- the memorial of Mahatma Gandhi
and Shanti Van; walk along chandni chowk, the silver street of Delhi bustling with
activity. In the New city visit Qutab Minar, the tallest stone tower in India,
Humayuns Tomb built in the Indo Persian style and a predecessor to The Taj Mahal in
Agra, India Gate A War Memorial Arch; Lakshmi Narayan - a Hindu temple. Also drive
past the Presidents house, Parliament house, Government secretariat buildings and
Connaught place - the heart of New Delhi a busy shopping center.
Day 3- To
Jaipur On this day enjoy a 5 hours
drive past green countryside or Leave by Shatabadi Express Train and watch the simple life
style of the villagers of rural India as you set off to the Pink city of Jaipur. En route
at midway you may stop at Neemrana Fort Palace for lunch. The fort overlooks some
beautiful
landscape. Later continue your drive and arrive late in the afternoon at your hotel in
Jaipur for overnight stay. There are many dinner options available to dine in one of the
finest Palace hotels that Jaipur boasts of.
Day 4- In Jaipur The day
starts with an interesting drive of 11kms in the outskirts of the city to visit AMBER
FORT, the ancient capital of the State until 1728. City tour covers visit to the solar
Observatory. Also visit the Maharajas City Palace, the former royal residence and
now a museum containing rare manuscripts, fine specimens of Rajput and Mughal paintings
and weapons. Drive through the pink-rose residential and business areas, past the Hawa
Mahal or Palace of Winds, the landmark of Jaipur.
Day 5- To Ranthambore
Your tryst with Indias flora and fauna will start today with a 3 hour drive from
Jaipur to Ranthambore National Park, the former hunting ground of the Maharaja of Jaipur
and the home of the elusive Royal Bengal Tiger. Arrive in time for the afternoon safari.
Check in and switch over to Jeeps for an approximate 3 hour safari in the park with your
naturalist.
Day 6- In Ranthambore
Spend the day exploring the park and in search of the elusive tiger. Rest of the time can
be spent by visiting the nearby Ranthambore Fort at the entrance of the park or just
walking around the lodge. You can also visit the Sawai Madhopur Village for capturing the
colorful pictures of Rajasthani folk men and women.
Day 7- To Agra Leave early in the morning
for Agra. En route stop at Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary, 56kms before Agra and watch the birds
while riding a cycle rickshaw. The Park boasts of being inundated with more than 350
different species of resident & migratory birds. A short 20minutes drive away is
Fatehpur Sikri - Akbars sandstone city which was abandoned due to shortage of water.
Later continue your drive and arrive Agra in the evening. Rest of the day is at leisure
and to relax
Day 8- In Agra Morning
tour the city visiting the world famous Taj Mahal built by the Moghul Emperor Shahjehan in
1630 for his queen Mumtaz Mahal to enshrine her mortal remains. Later you will see Agra
Fort, a blend of architectural styles used during the reign of three emperors,
Itmad-Ud-Daulah and Sikandra- Akbars mausoleum. If time permits in the evening pay
another visit to Taj Mahal and ride a cycle rickshaw to the monument.
Day 9- To Khajuraho
Connect morning train to Jhansi and travel 4 hours to cover a distance of 190kms to arrive
in Khajuraho, the temple city stopping en route at the medieval town of Orcha noted for
its Hindu & Mughal architecture buildings. Take a short tour of Khajuraho, renowned
for its magnificent temples built by the Chandela Kings. The temples are divided into
three- eastern, western and southern groups.
Day 10- To Delhi Leave by
evening flight to Delhi. and depart for your Country. |
