Punjab also boasts a 58% literacy rate and the highest per capita income in India. The people of the Punjab are called Punjabis and they speak a language called Punjabi. The language of the region is Punjabi. Punjabis is a plural and refers to people who come from the area known as Punjab. Punjabi langauge has its originating source in Sanskrit Punjab has always been land of great saints and fighters. Enterprise and endeavor, these two words symbolize the essential spirit of the people of Punjab. The people of the state are hard working and take life as it comes.
