The Jamuna Resort, some ten minutes walk from
the hotel itself, is situated on a sandy hillock overlooking quiet
rural Landscape. With its pretty thatched cottages set amongst green
lawns, shadey trees and flowery gardens, it is an oasis in the dry
Shekhawati semi-desert; a perfect place to relax and unwind, free
from the pressures of travelling in India.
Traditionally-built and beautifully decorated lodges provide
air-cooled accommodation for the visitors, with a further dining
room cottage serving a full range of food, drinks and mineral water.
A swimming pool set in its own walled garden, adds to the pleasures
of the Jamuna Resort.
Intending to our visitors from abroad a
deeper insight into the Indian way of life and into the culture of
the Shekhawati area, we will offer specially designed programs to
them.
One of these programs, will be called "Summer Academy of Indian
Cuisine", is meant for introducing our foreign guests to the secrets
of the Indian art of cooking, in the framework of ten-day stay at
the resort. The program will include a visit to Jaipur (with launch
at the Rambagh Palace Hotel), excursions to different places in
Shekhawati area (where the guest will be hosted by local families),
as well as a course on the Indian Art of Cooking at our resort. For
this purpose we are constructing a separate Kitchen on our premises
that will be used by the course participants exclusively.
Another program, which we call "Workshop of Indian Decorative Art",
will be offered to visitors eager to gain knowledge and skills in
this field of our life and culture. The workshop will (besides
subject-related excursions to the Shekhawati area) include lectures
and practical exercises. The participants will be introduced to
local pottery, textile ("tie and die") - body (henna) - decoration,
into the local methods of ornamenting houses and rooms and into the
arts of miniature- and wall painting for which the area is famous
for all over the world.
Besides these programs, (lasting 1 days each) we will organize at
the resort also these of a shorter duration. Thus we are planning to
offer an introductory course on the "Theory and Practice of Yoga",
lasting three to five days.
Furthermore we will also offer a three to five days program to
groups of tourists interested in discovering our area by bikes.
Apart from the fact, that Jhunjhunu is situated in the heart of the
Shekhawati area and therefore an ideal starting point for tours to
discover the towns and villages around, these bikers will surely
enjoy our green oasis in the desert (especially the swimming pool)
after their daily excursions.
Needless to say, that we will also be ready to organize other
programs according to the interests of your clients who will be our
guests. Please, do not hesitate, to let us know your proposals
concerned.
