Barmer was founded in
the 12th centaury and founder of Barmer is Bahada Rao. (Popularly
known as Bar Rao) Barmer is known for its rich crafts, dances, block
printed bed sheets, embroidery work. These product made in Barmer are
popular throughout India. The most interesting part of a trip to
Barmer is the journey through rural Rajasthan that is Tribal peoples
in Small villages with mud walled houses. Jat, Bishnoi, Choudhary,
Muslim, Meghwal, are main communities available with Barmer district.

Mahabar
Desert: Mahabar is the nearest sand dunes
three km from hotel and 5
Kms from Barmer. We can see the desert over here. Also Thar Mahotsav
(fair) is held over here every year in march. Good sand dunes are
there in Mahabar. You can also enjoy the camel ridding and great
adventures of deserts.

Kiradu Temple: Kiradu Ancient
Temples lie at a distance of 39 km from Barmer city and
38 km from hotel in Hathma
village.You find an inscription here dating back to 1161AD indicating
that the place was once called Kiratkoop and had once been the capital
of the Panwara dynasty. The Panwaras owed their allegiance to the
rulers of Gujarat at that time. The Kiradu temples are a group of five
temples and are grouped as ancient temples, an important site from the
archaeological point of view. The largest and the most impressive
amongst them is the Someshvara Temple.

Shopping: A veritable shopper's
paradise, Barmer is treasure trove of vibrantly coloured embroidery
with excellent mirror work. Also famous for beautifully embroidered
fabrics and pouches often patterned with tiny mirrors. Traditional
rugs, blankets, shawls, carpets "Pattius" Dari in typical Barmer
colours and weaves are speciallity of the district. The shopping spots
includes the tiny shops along narrow lanes of the colourful and lively
sadar bazar of Barmer Town.
